Sakleshpur is a hill station in Karnataka's Western Ghats. Sakleshpur, with its vast plantations of coffee, tea, and spices. A wonderful town known for its unique terrain, coffee and spice farms, beautiful flowing waterfalls, walking pathways, and some of the most remarkable mediaeval temples.
Sakhleshpur is a fantastic option for escaping Bangalore's summer. We planned to leave early in the morning because the travel from Bangalore would take at least 5 to 6 hours.
When we arrived at the resort about noon, we were welcomed with a refreshing glass of green apple juice. All of the resort's rooms were roomy and had balconies with breathtaking views of the mountain and a coffee plantation. The resort staff mentioned a pottery and clay sculpture session, which was followed by a tour of a coffee plantation or a sunset trekk.
After settling in and enjoying a delicious lunch, we took a tour of the resort and decided to go on a Plantation stroll later in the evening.
The panoramic view of the mountain facing pool is the best aspect of the resort.
Sumit, our tour guide, led us on a hour tour of the coffee, betelnut, cardamom, and black pepper plantations while explaining everything and astounded us with fascinating facts. A tiny pond in the centre served as the area's water source.
We noticed white blooms and their delightful aroma all across the valley while driving, but we had no idea they were coffee flowers. They had the scent of jasmine flowers.Following that, coffee blooms change into green berries, which eventually turn into red fruits that contain the coffee bean.
By the way, did you know that cardamom is the priciest spice in the entire world?
Later, we relaxed in the pool, relishing the panoramic peaks and the spectacular sunset.
The resort was illuminated by candelabras during Earth Hour when the lights were turned off, creating a mystical ambiance.
In the evening, we gathered around a cosy bonfire to watch the Oscar-winning film "The Elephant Whisperers."
Later, as we looked up at the endless number of stars in the night sky, we talked about previous travel experiences and made plans for upcoming ones.
The next morning, we planned an expedition that included the Pandavar Gudda hike and the 1000-year-old Bettada Bairaveshvara Temple.
Pandavar Gudda is well-known in Indian mythology as the Pandavas' vanavas dwelling in the Mahabharata.
We checked out of the resort and drove 45 miles to Sakleshpur's Shettihalli Church.
Shettihalli Rosary Church is a historic church in Shettihalli village, Hassan district, Karnataka. It is a well-known tourist attraction in Hassan and one of the best places to visit near Sakleshpur.
This beautiful church was built in the Gothic architectural style. The church is notable because it is submerged in the River's backwaters all year. During the summer, the water recedes, allowing visitors to see the church.
Despite the fact that we did not visit many places, we enjoyed our stay at Machaan Plantation Resort. If you like to rest and unwind, you can spend your weekend at this tranquil getaway surrounded by lush nature.
