Looking for a refreshment away from the daily hustles of Bangaluru?
A small Solo trip to Mangalore will do it for you.
I decided to take a flight early morning Saturday as I work late night on Fridays. Mangalore welcomed with a great spell of rain.
The Mangalore Airport is around 12 KM from the main city. Local Bus station is 1.5 KM away from the Airport so I took an OLA and reached the KSRTC bus stand of Mangalore.
Buses to Udupi are quite frequent and I boarded a local bus to Udupi.

An average of 1.5 hours from Mangalore to Udupi. The best part of being in a local bus is getting familiar with the localities. Many school Girls boarded the bus.
The scenic beauty of the road was so refreshing and the rain just added to the beauty. Well !! I slept off just two stops before reaching Udupi which made me get down at the next stand which is Manipal.
Taking that as an opportunity (also considering the check in time at hotel to be 12PM) I roamed in and around of Manipal. A small beautiful town with small cafes and lot of coconut trees.
I took an auto to the hotel. Thankful to the Service of The Ocean Pearl for early checked inn.
I started off to Kaup beach. The Greenery of the whole town and the lined up coconut trees adds to the beauty of the roads.

Kaup Beach is not over crowded and the lighthouse, which was built in 1901 adds to the scenic beauty of the Beach.(The entry to lighthouse ends by 5PM)
Headed back to hotel for some refreshment. I started off to delta beach also known as Kodi Bengare beach... and Wow what a beauty this beach is.
The road divides the beach and the back waters. An awesome spot to enjoy the Sunset by the Arabian sea.
The fishermen casting their nets, small food stalls serving local food and seafood, are a bliss to the eyes. A walk while enjoying the setting sun and amidst the coconut trees would be a moment, you will remember for ever.

I headed to one of the oldest food joints of Mangalore; Woodlands ,for some Coffee and Dosa.
Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, devoted for the the worship of Lord Krishna is just few minutes walk from this place.

I decided to walk back to the hotel. A walk makes you more familiar to the place. The Saturday market gazing local people made the city lively.
I good dinner and some wine to end my day was the plan for the night !!

An early morning walk by the town on a Sunday morning followed by Heavy Breakfast at the hotel.
I checked out early and visited Udupi Beach and Malpe Beach. Being a weekend, both the beaches got crowded with tourists and local visitors. The local stalls selling sea food was major sight in Udupi Beach. Children playing in the Sunny afternoon by the beach made me nostalgic.
I decided to board a bus to Mangalore, as I wanted to hop around the city of Mangalore, till my bus at night to Bangaluru.

Mangalore is a beautiful city by the bank of Arabian Sea. June being the monsoon time in the entire city looks beautiful and green.
I boarded a bus to Bangaluru at 11:30 PM. I prefer taking Non AC (seater) buses to feel the air. The Way from Mangalore to Bangaluru amidst fog made the journey more beautiful.
I would love to come back to Mangalore.. The coconut trees keep calling me back... !!
