Woke up got ready with road trip essentials like adequate supply of water a backpack and my tank filled with petrol not to forget the essential supplies to munch on in between the trip. I left Mangalore at 6 am I'm a photographer so i preferred stoping at various points in my way to click pictures. The road from Mangalore to Chikmagalur is a straight highway which is really well built. Don't take any detour from the main road(I took one that led to a waste of time and I had to go through a really bad road). Another mistake which I did was booking a room in Belur which is 22 kms from chikmagalur. Please don't do this you'll have to travel hell lot to visit any tourist place. I reached my hotel(oyo room- guru inn) at near about 10:45 am. Although the room and the washroom were amazing and the staff was also really nice. Being tired I had food and slept for sometime as it was really sunny out there. I got up at near about 3 pm and planned out my day something like this-
1) First place I went to was Yagachi dam(this place is not worth it, don't go there but there's some water sports near it by the same name which I've heard is good-no personal experience though)
2) The second place was Hirekolale lake which is a really serene place you should not miss it.
3) The last place I visited was chennakeshava temple. It's the best temple in belur
After this I called the day off
I woke up and got ready and left hotel by 6 am. First place I visited was mullayangiri peak. Although I had planned to see the sunrise at the peak but I failed to do so. Anyway I still got some good pictures. I reached the peak spent a lot of quality time over there
2) Then we left to have food at siri care(one of the most talked about places because of the famous statue of the lady)
3) After having eaten enough we again went towards mullayangiri to go to other nearby places like manikyadhaara waterfall, jhari fallls and baba budangiri peak
4) After this it was almost 5 and it's advised to leave mullayangiri peak by 6 as it gets really dark and terrain is really rough
Final day- I had breakfast at a famous place by the name of town canteen you guys should not miss it, the dosa over here is really amazing and even the coffee is really good
2) I left for ayaankara waterfall. This place is deserted and you have to go through villages and you can chuck it if you don't have time. I've put some pictures for reference
3) After this i left for madagadakere. This place is also located inside villages. I've put pictures you can decide whether to go or not
4) After this I left for the last stop i.e. coffee museum. There's a ticket of 20 rupees. Its not a very important place you can Chuck it
After this I left for Mangalore back and reached back in 4 hours 30 minutes
I covered 624 kms on Scooty in 2.5 days and i completed trip in Rs 1900
Not to forget things
1) There are very few petrol pumps so keep the tank full all the time
2) keep eatables with you they come in really handy
3) keep amole stock of water with you
4) very few atms are there in Chikmagalur and swiping machines are not available in any shop. So keep cash with you
And lastly I would love to hear from you guys
Any suggestions or feedback will be really appreciated
