We were planning to have a bike trip, that place was not too far from our college and keeping the off days we got from college and weather in mind that place was satisfying all the factors we were having in our mind. The trip was for 3 days.
The place is so mesmerizing that you can enjoy it with or without company, the climate, surrounding is all so fresh and healthy that it will refresh everyone’s mind and soul.We visited the place in the month of August and it was raining there still the place was looking beautiful. We booked the rooms online through OYO rooms.I went with my friends so the lump-sum amount was around 5000 per person.
The trip was a bike trip as I told you before so while riding you will get to see the beauty of nature in all time of the journey. There is a place called Mandalpatti which is around 18 km from Coorg and it is situated at the height of 1800 meter. The place was very beautiful and gave the real feel of what heaven might look like. Since it rained a few moments before, the surrounding above was very foggy and cold. The environment was giving a complete feel of much pollution the cities now are containing because it was all pollution-free and completely natural and fresh.
Coffees are very famous there. You can easily get homemade coffees there and it is well suited and totally supports the weather up there.
The place is completely safe for traveling though I suggest that if you are good at riding a bike then only do the bike trip as the roads sometimes get slippery because of the rains. Yes, you can travel at night also, just as I told you to have to be a little careful while driving.
The first day we reached the hotel at around 8 pm and we rested, had our dinner and the next day we went to Madikeri Fort. The fort is huge and has speared in a lot of space. After which there is an Omkareshwar Temple which is dedicated to lord shiva. We took a small visit there and also many points there. Next day we went to Abbey Fall and Mangal Patti. Abbey fall is around 8 km from the Madekeri fort and its view is very eye-catching, it gives just a wow feel to the eyes. Next day we went rafting which was truly an adventurous moment. You can easily view the coffee farming there. After there we went for a small photo shoot to the sunset point. Although you will find all places well suited for capturing so don’t forget to take a camera.
The whole trip was full of moments but let me tell you one which will help the readers to be cautious about their visit. So we were continuing our trip and I was sitting on the back seat of the bike and my friend was riding the bike. He tried to overtake the other vehicle and because of the slippery roads our bike just dragged for like 2-3 meter long which caused us little injuries. So I highly recommend sitting behind a skilled biker.
We had the normal south Indian meal but the coffees are totally different. They will taste fresher than the usual coffee. There is not much change in culture just that you will rarely find people who know Hindi there.I think the best will be if you have your own vehicle either 2-Wheeler or 4-wheeler.Yes, we rented the bike from the Ridobiko. So if you are planning to visit the place after July that means near monsoon season do drive carefully and if possible visit with a 4-wheeler. If you are carrying the trip through two wheeler, don’t break any traffic rules and please wear a helmet.
Carry warm clothes with you and if possible carry raincoats if you are visiting in monsoon. Rest you easily find things of frequent use.
