Mysore is situated at the foothills of Chamundi Hills and covers an area of 155 km2.

This is the capital city of the Kingdom of Mysore and was ruled by the Wadiyar dynasty. History also showcases in the late 18th century this city was under the control of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan . Be it Wadiyars or Tipu Sultan and Hyder Ali everyone contributed to the cultural and economic growth of the city. The cultural ambience and achievements of Mysore earned it the sobriquet of Cultural Capital of Karnataka.

Mysore is noted for its heritage structures and palaces, including the Mysore Palace, and for the festivities that take place during the Dasara festival. This is the time when touristes across the globe flock to the city to enjoyt the festival.

This city is well connected with road and air network.

Palace Circle

This is a famous circle and have a statue of Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar X of Mysore. He was knowledgable and well loved, also he was known as a patron of art, science, music, and many building were made during his reign.

Originally sculpted by the British sculptor Robert Colton in 1918, used the same white marble as the Taj Mahal in Agra.

Currently this is a busy roundabout. The statue s the Maharaja in his royal regalia and with both his hands resting on a knife held on his belt.

Mysore Rail Museum

Mysore Rail Museum was made in 1979 by the Indian railways. This museum will take you on a delightful journey of Indian railwas. It contains photos and oher relics which will showcase he significant milestones.

The entry ticket for adults is Rs 50 and for children it is Rs 20/-.

Dussherra is the best time to visit Mysore, it seems the whole city is celebrating. The whole place is lit up with lights and is well decorated. It is a state festival and is celebrated for 10 days.

The ceremonies and a major procession is traditionally presided by the king of Mysuru.

Mysore Palace, known as Amba Vilas Palace, is one of the most magnificent and largest palaces in India. This palace is located in the southern state of Karnataka, and was the official residence of the Wodeyar Dynasty, the rulers of Mysore from 1399 to 1950.

This grand palace is a major tourist attraction and visitors from across the globe visit it.
