Planning a one day trek near Bangalore, kunti betta is the best option. Talking a bit about history, actually Kunti the mother of five pandavas took exile here and there is a temple at the foothills as well which is very famous pilgrimage place. Which is the reason the mountain is called kunti betta and the village is called Pandavpura.
Kunti betta is situated in Mandya district of karnataka which 125kms from Bangalore. The mountain is surrounded by beautiful sugarcane and paddy fields along with huge stacks of coconut trees.
The trip
We signed up with plantheunplanned for the trek and they are amazing guys who plan awesome trips.
We started early in the morning from bangalore. A bunch of unknown guys in a traveller but not unknown anymore. We played games had fun in our journey. We reached kunti betta in the morning around 10 am and we started
The path towards the top is not well defined, you have to jump few rocks and go through some narrow places but its fun and completely worth it.
We reached the top in 3 hours and enjoyed the 360 degree view. It was serene and peaceful. Lunch, Dance and photography we did it all. It was amazing.
Time to go back. It took us a bit less time while coming down then we visited a lake nearby kunti kund. Worth it! All in one it is a best one day outing near Bangalore.
