Day 1

I came across this kayak trips near mulk from a long time. Planned so many times with friends  but never worked out. This time I decided to go alone. As I knew in and  around  places I reached  the place easily.

How to reach the place ??
From Mangalore take a express bus get down at Mulki. Get an auto  kolchi kambala end or tell them to take to kayaking place, most of the auto people know the place. 10 min from Mulki.
Those who are coming from bengaluru book a bus to Mulki directly.  It is on the way to Udupi.

What to do ?

After reaching there I had to wait for sometime . Because most of the people come in group. I  waited for sometime . Once all the people arrived. The instructor gave the instructions and we were set to go.

You may question I don't know swimming  how can I do kayaking?
No need to worry even though you don't know swimming you can do kayaking. It's absolutely safe and they provide life jacket for everyone.

I went for a short trip of 5 kms. I chose single kayak. I was bit nervous because for the first time I was getting into the big river Shambhavi. I was nervous till I get into my kayak, That's it. Then it was absolutely  fantastic journey  for the next 2.5 hrs. They  took a round of  one island and a short break to an isolated beach . Have to walk a bit to reach the beach. That was the best part I got into sea with my lifejacket and floated in the middle of the sea(not exactly middle, at least 100 m away from the shore) with the big waves.

Tip :a)You need to have a little stamina to go in a single kayak, or else you can with double kayak, where 2 members in one kayak.

b) Full arm T-shirt preferable

c) Carry fruits and water

d) Do not litter
