Well. I've spent the last four years in Goa as part of college. But here I was in Bangalore for an internship with no good reason to go to another beach destination. But Gokarna is different. It's seas are calmer, waters are bluer, beaches are rockier, and vibes insanely casual. You can do beach trekking and beach bumming all in one place!
I didn't come with a plan. I had just booked my stay at Zostel Gokarna ( probably the best Zostel I've stayed at ) and my transport from bus. And that probably was a typical laidback Gokarna behaviour as well.
On the first day, I visited Murudeshwara temple, which is about 2 hours away from Gokarna. I timed my trip so I could see the sunset over there. And the result was totally worth it!
On the second day, I went for a swim first to Middle Beach, which literally had no one else in the entire beach. Then I did the five beach trek from Paradise beach to Om beach.
The third day, though there is a famous Shiv temple to visit, was just spent playing board games in the Zostel cafe ( Mantra Cafe ) and admiring sunsets. Have a look!
