Started driving around 5:30 AM on Sunday 9th Oct 2016 morning from Hyderabad and reached by 2:30 PM to Hampi. Our way was from Hyd-Raichur-Gangavati and then Hampi. The drive was good with spell bounding scenic beauty. We took 30 mins break on the way.

The huts were beautiful and colorful.

Nearby, we had breakfast in German Bakery , the food was yummy and it will be light on your pocket and then we left for temples and monuments on the other side of the river which we crossed through the boat. You can get the boat from Virupaksha temple and opposite to and fro.

Visited the Virupaksha Temple, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is surrounded by pillars and small temples. the temple carvings are very beautiful.

Stone Chariot

Stone Chariot is a major attraction here. There are three chariots in India, we have covered all of them, you will read regarding these in my other posts. The carvings on stone is very beautiful and amazing. The base platform is decorated with scenes from mythical battles.

This long domed structure looks spectacular. This is elephant stable for royal elephants.

The day we went it was a sunny day. So we get a nice and bright view of all the monuments.

After roaming the whole day we had food at Mango Tree restaurant near Virupaksha Temple. The food was very tasty and the seating arrangement in most of the restaurant in Hampi is Thai style. So it will give you a homely feeling and you can enjoy lunch even more.

Next morning we went to Anjani Parvat. You can get the full view of Hampi from here and morning was very amazing. The sun rise from there is eye catching ...Don't miss it.It takes around 30 mins to trek the mountain. There will be stairs build of stones so it is easy to climb.

View from Angni Parvat

We went to water reservoir near to Hampi around 20 km. The view was breathtaking and we loved this place much more than the other ones. I would say take half day time from your trip to this place and enjoy the nature.
