A birthday brings in as much as it takes away. A promise of a better self, a hope of better times, a joy of the day spent. While, it takes away an year, yet again. My 30th was special.
Old Kent welcomed us on a hot sunny afternoon and filled us with sumptuous meals (traditional Coorgi food, much devoured Chinese cuisine and just right continental style), relaxed spas, enchanted walks, and coffee spells. The resort is nestled amidst a huge plantation estate boasting of coffee beans, cardamom greens, distant cocoa and pepper creepers. The stillness of the place is engulfing and seeps right within. We were lucky to have arrived on a day which lead to an exciting star gazing night arranged by the resort. The professional star gazer put us tête-à-tête with galaxies, stars, and the emptiness above. The aroma in the air during the plantation walk filled the creeks inside, and the coffee by the bar settled it down well. The spa, the food, and the place completed my birthday, like very few before.
It has been six months since then, and I revisit the place sometimes, just like I did now.
