We started our trip to Coorg via road from bangalore at 5:30AM. We had a break for breakfast at 10:00 AM at Kamat restaurant. This is a recommended place for breakfast.

Reached Coorg at 12:00 noon & headed to our resort. We were welcomed by the Taj with a wonderful Coorg coffee. We relaxed in the resort for the weekend. On the 3rd day we headed to explore Coorg.

Day 3

Raja's Seat

Next we headed to Raja's Seat, which gave a spectacular view of the valley, dense forest area. The entry to the raja's seat was Rs.10/- per person. The best timing to visit this is during early hours or during sunset.

Abbey Falls Madkeri

First we went to Abbey Falls, which had a number of stairs. So be ready for the cardio. The view as soon as you reach the falls is spectacular. The entry to Abbey falls is free. The road leading to Abbey Falls is very narrow, so only if you are a good driver i would recommend you to go by your own car, else you can hire a cab. There is a good car parking area near the falls, so you dont have to worry about the parking.

Namdroling Monastery Golden Temple

Our next stop was Namdroling Monastery Golden Temple. This is 40kms from Coorg. I would suggest you can visit this place while going back, as it is en-route Bangalore. The monastry is beautiful, surrounded with lush green gardens. You can enjoy shopping in the campus of the Monastry.
