Imagine leaving for a 2 days trip but deciding the destination midway, this was one such trip for me.
I along with my 3 friends were off to a weekend trip and were discussing where to go at a nukkad while sipping tea at 5 o'clock in the morning. That's when we decided to explore Chikmagalur.
It took us 6-7 hours to reach Chikmagalur town since we took many breaks in between and then another 2 hours to search for our stay! (That's obvious because the plan was impromptu)
We then decided to visit the famous sunset point in town that is the hirekolale lake but to our luck we reached a little late and almost missed the sunset. With a little disappointment and discussions on how to utilise the day further we decided to stay at the place for a little longer. Trust me when I say, it was the best decision ever!!! The place was so peaceful and relaxing. The sound of water streams was calming to the mind and soul.
Sooner did we realise it was a perfect star gazing site as well. The beauty of the place grew with darkness. ( Since the place is known for beautiful sunset site only you won't find much crowd later at the spot :) )
Planned to watch a sunrise from baba budhan giri hills was not approved by moter nature, since it was a cloudy day!
Even though we could not catch a sunrise, the beauty of the place was breathtaking. This picturesque view and lush greenery will show you colours you have never seen in the crayon color pallet before.
Hold tight the winds here will try their best to blow you off.
Next in line was the beautiful cascading waterfalls also known as buttermilk or jhari water falls. There comes a point where you have to park your personal vehicles and a jeep will take you down to the falls. The place was perfect to spent some fun time in water.
After spending around 2 hours at the falls we moved ahead to the Mullyangiri peak. Now imagine the view from the highest peak in Karnataka. Exotic and so surreal that cannot be explained in words.
We had plans to explore the place a little more but didn't want to leave the place and just as said "Zindagi mein sabkuch ek sath nhi kar sakte, toh jaha hai wahi ka maza lete hai" we decided to catch the sunset from the Mullyangiri peak.
And with the beautiful memories we left for Bangalore the same night.
