Belur - Erstwhile capital of Hoysala empire. Chennakeshava and Shankareshwara temples are famous here. The art inscribed depicts stories from Mahabharata and Ramayana.
Halebidu - Around 15 kms from Belur, public transport available. Hoysaleshwara temple is famous here .
Can explore both temples in a day, however if you want to learn more in detail about sculptures and architecture suggestible to take a guide.
