This trip was out our curiosity that this time I need to go somewhere I have never been but in should be in my wish list. After a couple of checks I have decided that I will see jog falls in Karnataka which is pretty famous when in school.
I started from Bangalore and headed towards shivmongga district in Karnataka which was around 290 Kms which I covered in 5 hours after couple of breaks.
Note: I was travelling without a phone and hence I missed many pictures on the way. A friend of mine helped me with the pictures.
After I reached shivmonga I called up my friend to join me towards the falls as he is a local and can help me with all things.
He also said that the flow of water is little less hence there are less people which is perfect.
Had some delicious food from his home and started towards jog falls in the afternoon. It's took us 2 and half hours to cover a distance of 100kms from the town. The roads were narrow and it was raining all the way. The climate kept on changing as we moved forward.
We reached the entrance by 6 and it was difficult for us to see the place as it was already dark there and the rain was continuous that we had to find a place to stay.
The security guard arranged a place for is to stay at one of the villagers house.
It was strange to see the family welcome us with such kindness and hospitality. They gave us tea and showed us the room.
Meanwhile the rain still continued.
We were really tired that we just wanted to take rest. But the family made us eat some rice and gave us hot milk before sleep which was the sweetest thing I felt.
I don't remember falling asleep but the rain was still in full flow.
In usual cases I wake up when the sun is up to start early. Here I had to wait for the sun as it was cold and rain always followed.
We had to wait for the rain to stop to see what we actually came for.
The worst part was saying goodbye to the family who allowed us to share their home and food. I offered some money for their hospitality but refused right away. After insisting they agreed to take money only for the stay. I would never forget them and I also agreed to come next time. They were really nice and it was the best part.
We started towards the entrance of the falls which was just a kilometre away from the village. The guard welcomed us with smile which was actually pleasant on a very beautiful day.
We parked the bike and started walking towards the falls.
I was anxious to see if the flow of the falls seemed the same from the pictures I saw. It was raining the whole night so I was really excited too.
We walked closer and the falls was visible to us as we moved forward.
Finally we reached the point where we can see the falls just opposite to us.
I was little down as the flow was less but it didn't matter after sometime. I was more happy now to finally see it in real which I only learnt from books and pictures on internet.
My friend here was expecting the same and he often told me about it.
We had a pretty good time there as crowd seems to be off and we had complete privacy.
He was an old friend of mine and we had lots to talk.
The conversation went off when we realised that we are hungry. Unfortunately there arent any restaurant near by fullfil.
I took some pictures with phone to remember my first time.
Now we were really hungry and the snacks available their couldn't keep us long. We had to ride all the way to the nearby village to find food. Finally we were full and had that energy back.
He asked me where next? Back home?
Hesitatingly I sad "No macha"(kannada) no brother I wish to go further and asked him to join me.
He politely declined and wanted to go back to his town. I only wish I could have convinced him to come with me, but I too had to understand his situations and priority.
I was surprised when he gave me his phone as asked me to use it in case of emergency. I had to watch him walk away after such a wonderful time.
Meanwhile he asked me to go to Murdeshwara temple which has a huge statue of lord shiva.
It was a 70km drive to the temple also there is a beach nearby. I was lucky enough to reach the place before the rain started.
I took a quick glance of the temple
