Trek route -
Bangalore -> Kollur -> Kodachadri base
I joined an ongoing trek with BTC. We, a total of 21 people from different part of the city joined the journey unknown to us. An overnight journey was through tempo traveller so we could get some sleep. Things go south when you have a creative organiser and that was the case with us. now you have to act and let others guess your name. time passed and it was 2 am in the morning.
An early morning, the cold wind woke me up. It was so beautiful to watch the sunrise from the bus. We reach the base by 8 o'clock, got freshen up, had breakfast and soon ready to leave by 10:30 am.
The total trek distance is nearly 14km both way and the uphill climb make it quite difficult for beginners. Despite the tough trail, the journey to the top is one you’ll remember. the view from the summit and watching the sunset is no match.
The trail passed through the rice field, banana plantation, slippery rocks, and an almost vertical climb. we took one to many breaks to get rest and share funny stories from the tiny tinny part of our life. Funny story, on the first day we were supposed to visit the Hidlumane falls but in the dense forest we miss to another trail. fortunately, the trial meets Jeep route just before the summit and good news are now we would walk on almost flat land.
By it was 5 o'clock we manage to reach the PWD guest house. we drop our backpacks and headed for snacks cum lunch. Behold - the sunset point is further nearly 2km away. Oh God - when will life be just easy.
Soon we left for the sunset point. it is another vertical climb, now hard to climb with tired legs. but the thoughts of sunset keep me going. It is so beautiful. how many times I had watched and every time its feel like new.
The night was quite active. we played "mafiya" game, some participants were new but quite good to get the game.
Next day morning was very chilly. Again a beautiful part of mother nature to witness. I missed the sunrise through but other folks saw it. soon after the morning chit chats on tea-coffee and later breakfast, we started our way down by 10 am.
On our way down we went through the trail via Hidlumane falls. Way down is always easy for me, idk why. we manage to reach the waterfall by 1 pm.
Hidlumane falls is quite good and surrounded by lush greenery. Other people were already there as expected. I sat under the falling water, silent, tried to listen to my heartbeats and the hidden message carrying in those water. Yes - my first encounter with any waterfall.
after here, way down was the same as we came yesterday. we reach the base point by 5 pm and soon headed our way back.
Ohh haa, surprise, we halted at adi-guru Shankaracharya temple in the way. this temple is quite big and has ancient significant.
We reach Bangalore as early as 5 o'clock. I said goodbye to all in hope may our path cross again and boarded my bus home. early morning the chilly wind was touching my face, birds tweets were in the air, I closed my eye and recall the quotes "So much of what you are is where you've been"
