Katraj to Sinhgad, famously known as K2S is a range trek near Pune. The trek starts from the Old Katraj Tunnel and a series of big and small 16 hills spread over 14 Kms takes us to the end point of the trek - a T junction in the Sinhgad Ghat route. One can take a PMPML bus from Swargate to Khed Shivapur / Kalyan / Nasrapur and get down at Katraj Old Tunnel. It takes around 40 mins for the bus to reach the tunnel.
A trail goes up from the east side of the road to the top of the tunnel and then we have to climb up the biggest hill in the sight (on the west side) to start the trek.
There is no water available on the route. No means to leave the trek halfway. So, one has to carry at least 3 LTRs water and should be able to walk for 6/7 hours.
Once the trek is over, you can take the local jeep (50/60 per head) to the base of the fort. And continue journey to swargate by PMPML bus or auto Rickshaw.
