Entry Fee and Timings

The entry fee for visiting Krang Suri Waterfalls is Rs. 30 per person for Indians and Rs. 50 per person for foreigners. There is also a parking fee of Rs. 20 per vehicle. The waterfall is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day.

The best time to visit Krang Suri Waterfalls is between October and April, when the weather is pleasant and the water level is optimal. During the monsoon season, from May to September, the waterfall can be dangerous due to heavy rainfall and landslides.

How to Reach

The easiest way to reach Krang Suri Waterfalls is by road from Shillong. The distance between Shillong and Krang Suri Waterfalls is about 90 km and it takes about 2.5 hours to cover it by car.

You can either hire a taxi or drive your own vehicle. The road condition is good for most of the journey, except for the last few kilometers, which are narrow and bumpy. You will also have to cross a few bridges and tolls along the way. The route from Shillong to Krang Suri Waterfalls is as follows:

- Take the NH6 from Shillong towards Jowai.

- After about 60 km, turn left at Pasyih junction towards Amlarem.

- After about 20 km, turn right at Amlarem market towards Krang Suri.

- After about 10 km, you will reach the entrance of Krang Suri Waterfalls.

You can also reach Krang Suri Waterfalls by public transport from Shillong. You can take a bus or a shared taxi from Shillong to Jowai, which costs about Rs. 100 per person and takes about 2 hours.

From Jowai, you can take another bus or a shared taxi to Amlarem, which costs about Rs. 50 per person and takes about an hour. From Amlarem, you can take a local taxi or an auto-rickshaw to Krang Suri Waterfalls, which costs about Rs. 100 per person and takes about half an hour.

Where to Stay

There are not many options for accommodation near Krang Suri Waterfalls. The nearest town is Amlarem, which has a few basic hotels and homestays. However, these are not very comfortable or hygienic and may not have all the amenities you need. Therefore, we recommend staying in Shillong and visiting Krang Suri Waterfalls as a day trip.

On second day Ofourjourney started for Krangsuri waterfalls which is the most exotic waterfalls in the jaintia hills District, Meghalaya. Located nearby a sleepy town of Amlarem, which is about 90kms from shillong main city. It is also considered as one of the top five waterfalls to see in Meghalaya. The district administration has transformed the place into a tourist destination by constructing chiseled footpaths and standing viewpoints to let the visitors captured the realm beauty of the waterfalls. At 40feet height, and it forms a deep blue pool below. The cementless concrete foothpaths are made from the natural stones, and placing them symmetrically to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area that ends to giant Cascade.
OH MY GOD was the expression on everyone's face when we saw the falls. Immediately removed our clothes and rented the life jackets to swim around the naturally formed swimming pool. Took the go pro with us and swam for almost 2hrs. That was the best moments of trip after having such a bad last day. Once we are done our muscles starting paining since the muscles are not completed recovered from the stress which we gave the other day. Started our journey to gawhati to return the camper and we had flight the next day to imphal. We already had booked an service apartment to stay at gawhati and reached guwhati at 12am.
Dense woods creeping in from both sides of the path, within a few minutes of walking, the beautiful Krang Suri falls was in view through a clearing in the woods, on the opposite hill, still very far yet a beautiful sight to see, the emerald waters glistening from a distance.
As the days went by.. things got better.. drove down to krang shuri waterfalls. This waterfall is a treat and a must. Tool me 2 hours to reach by a taxi, but was really worth the effort.
As blue as the sky itself Krang Suri is one of the most appealing waterfalls of meghalaya. :)
