A stunning and enchanting location in Uttarakhand's Chamoli District. Valley of Flowers is a national park in India renowned for its rich flora and fauna. The Valley of Flowers is situated between 3352 and 3658 metres above sea level. Every year, a large crowd of trekkers and travellers flock to Valley of Flowers, a popular trekking destination! The National Park covers an area of 87.50 square kilometres, with a width of 2 kilometres and a length of 8 kilometres. The trek to Flower Valley offers serene natural beauty with snow-capped Himalayan mountains in the background.

Joshimath, a holy town near Haridwar, is the starting point for the tempting trek to the valley. Botanists, nature lovers, and mountaineers would enjoy the Valley of Flowers. There are endemic rare flower plants, green meadows, and a wide range of flora to be seen. Valley of Flowers National Park is home to not only some of the most valuable and uncommon flowers, but also some rare endangered animal and bird species. To name a few, there's the Asiatic black bear, musk deer, and snow leopard.

They are common species, and Himalayan monal and pheasant are examples of high-altitude birds that can be seen in the valley. Take in the glorious sight of the riot of colours spread out before you in the Valley of Flowers National Park - the blues, yellows, pinks, and reds glittering in the sunlight! The heady mix of fragrances emanating from the flowers will reach you in waves as you enter the valley, making you feel intoxicated by its beauty!

Another fascinating thing about the Valley is that it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve is the nearest to the Valley and provides a wonderful opportunity to witness nature's wonders. The tranquil surroundings, lush beauty, and pleasant weather, all set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, will make you fall in love with the region.

You can also climb to Hemkund Sahib, where you'll find the unusual Brahma Kamal rising in abundance around the lake. Remember that it only grows between 10,000 and 15,000 feet in height! Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara is a holy site at a height of 4,633 metres. A glacial lake and seven mountain peaks surround Hemkund Sahib. The holy pilgrimage is dedicated to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Sikh Guru. The journey from Ghanagria to Hemkund Sahib is 6 kilometres long.

Thousands of devotees flock to the star-shaped Gurudwara near the beautiful lake every year. The thick forests of oaks and pines, gushing waterfalls and streams, captivating views of the Himalayas, alpine flowers, and the crystal clear lake with the holy shrine of Hemkund Sahib are among the trek's highlights. If pilgrims and travellers do not wish to trek for any reason, pony and Palki services are available.

From June to September is the best time to visit Hemkund Sahib. A minimum of 12°C (53.6°F) and a maximum of 23°C (73.4°F) are predicted. With clear blue sky, the weather remains cool and cold. Since the weather at Hemkund Sahib changes so quickly, it is recommended to bring heavy woollen clothing and raincoats. Due to heavy snowfall, the area is inaccessible from October to April.

The monsoon season is the perfect time to visit the Valley of Flowers! The best time to see the valley's blossoming beauty is from mid-July to mid-August. From June to October, the National Park is open to the public. The valley is blanketed in pristine white snow for the majority of the year.

A fast tip is to always plan for an extra day in the mountains, as the weather can be very volatile and cause schedule delays! Sche ahead of time to make the most of your vacation days!

For the five nights of the trip, you will be staying in guesthouses and lodges. The rooms would be shared by several individuals, with different rooms for men and women. Please treat your hosts with the same love and respect that you would show them, particularly since the area around Hemkund Sahib is considered sacred!

The Valley of Flowers is easily accessible from Delhi. Meet us at the Haridwar railway station for the ride. From most major cities, such as Delhi, you can take a direct train to Haridwar. You can also fly to Jolly Grant Airport, which is the closest airport to Haridwar, and then take a bus or cab to Haridwar. A direct bus from Delhi to Haridwar is also available.
