It was going to be our first experience in a Motor-home. We were visiting our family in South Africa and this time we had planned to do a road trip. Our route was going to be Johannesburg- Kruger National Park- St. Lucia- Durban- Drakensberg- Johannesburg.

As we landed in Joburg, our family had already brought the motor home to the airport to pick us up. We spent the night at their friends' driveway and headed towards Kruger early in the morning. We stopped on the way to stock up with food and basic essentials for the next 8 days. We reached Kruger by afternoon and headed towards our first campsite- Satara. Our next campsite was at Skukuza.

After looking at the most beautiful creatures in Kruger, we headed towards St. Lucia which was approximately a 4 hour drive. Our campsite at St. Lucia was pretty cool and the most interesting thing to do here was to watch the Rhinos. Its a beautiful town with beaches and marshy lands but when we visited there, it was quite windy and not advisable to be at the beach. However, we were lucky to have good seafood and of course the Rhino tour.

On our way to Durban we stopped at a beach to take a dip in the sea. That day it rained too and we had so much fun soaking up in the water after a long time at camp sites and sharing common washrooms.

Durban is a big city on the east coast of SA, our campsite here was again a very cool one with a brook flowing along side and covered by mountains on sides. As we were travelling with my niece and nephew, we had decided to take them to an adventure park for the day. Also, don't forget to have bunny chows when in Durban, they are a specialty and one of a kind.

Durban to Drakensburg was a long 6 hrs. ride. Drakensburg is a mountainous region and unfortunately it also started raining that day, so the temperature also got low. We anyways had a plan to stay just one night there and then headed back to Joburg.

The next morning we returned back to Joburg. It was the 8th day of our trip. A total of 8 days in the motor home sharing it with 8 people including 2 kids. It was 8 days of long road trips, amazing camping experience, cooking a lot of food, using public ablutions, swimming, watching beautiful animals and living with family cozily.

We then left for Capetown where we spent another one week with our family. But this motor home experience is a memorable one and i am looking forward to do it again soon.
