Jodhpur popularly known as Blue city of India. First of all, not all of Jodhpur Is painted blue. Only the old parts of the city near Mehrangarh Fort is painted blue. There are many theories why the houses are painted blue. The blue color is associated to the Lord Shiva and considered to be scared. Yet another belief is that blue color determined the social status. Where mostly Brahmans were living. This cast is considered the highest in the Indian culture. They did so because the blue color was meant to help against the heat and insects

Look down for blue houses in the beautiful city of Jodhpur to get instagrammable pic of yours ;) Even a tiny alleyway in Jodhpur has beauty.

Visit the Mehrangarh Fort

It is impossible to miss this fort as it sits high on the steep cliffs right in the centre of the city. Climb to the top of the fort to get the amazing view of the old blue city. You can also do Zip lining inside the fort to the get the amazing view of the complete fort. Almost every restaurant is a rooftop one so you can look at the fort while you eat.

Visit Jaswant Tada

This magnificent mausoleum is close to the Mehrangarh Fortalso called Taj Mahal of Marwar. You can reach either by walking or taking a tuk-tuk from Mehrangarh Fort. It is created out of white marble so thin, that you can see the sun shine through from the inside.

Around Clock Tower

Clock Tower is located in the city center. It is the chaotic part of the city yet so beautiful. Full of colors, tastes and life. Jodhpur is famous for its textiles, silver jewellery and spices. Don’t forget to try out Lassi and Kachori at Shri Mishrilal Hotel. It near to clock tower.

Toorji Ka Jhalra (Stepwell)

The Step Well is worth seeing. We sat in the Step well cafe opposite which overlooks this Step well and had some drinks and snacks towards the end of a day’s sightseeing. The roof top of this Café gives the amazing view of Mehrangarh fort aslo.

Visit Umaid Bhawan Palace

This is where the ex-royal family lives (aka the maharaja who lost power once India became a democracy). You can visit the museum to checkout amazing collection of Royal families
