The best trips are the ones done with the best people. I, along with my friends planned a trip to Jodhpur, as a birthday celebration. We decided to spend a weekend in Jodhpur and here is how we explored the pompous blue city of Rajasthan.

Jodhpur is the second-largest city in Rajasthan. It is a popular tourist destination. It is also known as the Blue city and Sun city. It is also called as the cultural capital of Rajasthan.

How to reach Jodhpur and travel around?

Jodhpur is one of the major city of Rajasthan and is well connected via train, air or road transport. Taxis are available for rent which can be used to travel within the city.

We started our journey from Ahmedabad on Friday night so that we can reach Jodhpur early morning for a pleasant weekend. Since we wanted to have a Royal experience, we pre-booked Indana palace for our stay. We directly checked in to our hotel and took rest for some time.

Itinerary

Day 1

After having our lunch at Rajasthani restaurant, we hired a cab and went to visit Mehrangarh Fort. We bought the tickets and started exploring Fort. Rajasthani people were playing some music with their instruments and the whole environment was nice. The only disturbing thing is scorching heat, so in case you plan your travel in summers carry your sunglasses, hats and water with you.

The fort has a lot to explore and we spent 2 hours in the Fort. Then we went to Jaswant Thada. It was just 500 m, but we were tired after walking in the Fort and somewhat due to the weather, so we opted for a cab instead of walking. It is made of pure white marble and its beauty is alluring. It is serene and peaceful.

We spent our evening in the gardens of Jaswant Thada and then went to Bal Samand Lake. It. was a tiring day and we all went back to the hotel where we had our dinner.

We played games in the hotel as it has got some indoor games. Then we sat in the gardens in the night. The experience in the hotel was Royal as well as comfortable with all the amenities. It was a fun night.

Day 2

The next morning we went to the Umaid Bhawan Palace. It is known for its architectural and historical heritage. It is truly a visual treat. The vintage car collection is a must-see attraction in Umaid Bhawan.

The intricate carvings on the walls of the fort, the beautiful courtyards, museums and galleries charm tourists from all over the world. There are six different galleries in the Mehrangarh Museum: Elephant's howdahs, Palanquins, Daulat Khana, Armoury, Paintings and the Turban Gallery.

At the top floor of the Fort, Canons were located for the safety of the fort.

We had planned to visit Mandore Gardens, but due to hot weather, we got tired and came back. We started back for Ahmedabad the same day. It was a delightful weekend in a marvellous place with amazing people.
