Parasnath hill is situated in Jharkhand state, India. It is a pilgrimage for Jainism followers. However, people from all religions visit it. This is the highest peak in Jharkhand.
5 in the Morning:
I, along with my friends, started a trip to Parasnath. It was a planned trip. Just the day before, I caught fever. But the plan had to work out.
At 6, we reached there. Had morning tea. The crest of Parasnath is called "Madhuban". It's an awesome place, very serene, pious and godly. You can easily see the jain gurus moving past you. There's a market here. All visitors who can't climb the hill, wander around here and enjoy themselves in this holy land.
Tips: When you are to start climbing, note that 1. you must have enough water with you, and your own food. You may get food in the way as well, but it may be costly or un-tasty for you (if it's a word lol).
2. you must buy a stick here, by paying 20-25 rupees. It'll help a lot by becoming your third leg while you climb, trust me.
3. you'll feel cold in the way if you go there during October - February. Don't forget warm clothes.
4. if you don't have enough stamina, don't go for the peak. As simple as that. You'll have no option in the midway if you feel tired.
5. Charge your phone fully. There's little or no network there. So inform your family and friends of this trip beforehand so they don't worry if your phone is unreachable.
So, We Started at around 6:30.
After walking 2 kilometres up from Madhuban, we reached to a temple, that is an example of incredible Architecture (ps: at least in my opinion). The golden temple was literally shining in the sun, attracting our sight and giving us one of the best place to click pictures. 👀
Then we moved ahead!
This was Gandharv Nala, one of the landmarks there. Around 6 kilometres up the hill. Cold Freshwater flowing through here, produces very sweet sound and you feel like stopping here for a nap. We didn't take a nap here though. Focus! We have to reach the hill and not stop here only.
After trekking for around 7-8 kilometres up, the target was still too far away from us.
On my way, there were many huts, where people live and sometimes ask the travellers for money or something to eat. Their life literally seems to be a very tough challenge.
We were consuming water so frequently that our bottles were empty soon. We had to buy a cartoon of bottles for 9 of us. That wasn't enough, we bought SHARBAT, NIMBU PANI, GANNE KA RAS, and i would suggest that you all must try them if you get a chance to visit there.
We reached the first temple.
We then walked to the Jal Mandir.
Me in different parts of Parasnath. I guess i covered 14 kilometres in all while going up and in visiting all the temples (MaTh), all made of white marbles.
It was around 12 in the afternoon when we reached the target, the highest peak, the main temple. We rested there for an hour or so for food and rest. The total distance covered till now was 16 kilometres. There was a low temperature there.
Then we began walking down the hill. It was easier to go down than to climb, obviously.
In 3 hours approximately at around 4:45 pm, we reached Madhuban, the place where we started our journey from, our Mahindra Scorpio Car was parked there, we paid 50 rupees for parking.
Then we all had hots or cold drinks. Took rest for a while and we were off to home:))
This truly was a memorable trip. We walked around 26 kilometres in all for 10 hours. However, many of us denied to come back again for a climb. We wer exhausted AF. At home, we suffered for two days in bed finding it extremely difficult to move our body. LoL.
