Best Time To Visit
October to March is the best time to visit Dalma Hilltop Wildlife Sanctuary. With 26 degrees Celsius temperature during the day, winters offer pleasant weather to explore the flora and fauna. The temperature in the night gets chilly with temperature setting close to 11 degrees Celsius.
Avoid visiting the park from April to September when the temperature soars to 38 degrees during the day.

How To Get There?
Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is located 33 km away from Jharkhand on NH-33. As there is no direct connectivity to the sanctuary, hiring a private car or a taxi is the best way to reach the sanctuary.

1. Nature Trails
Explore the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary on foot by taking nature trails through the wilderness. While the sanctuary does not offer a safari, visitors can walk through the trails, marked well by the forest authorities, to get up close with flora and fauna of the region. Visitors can roam around freely under the supervision of forest guide.

2. Visit Lord Shiva Temple
The wildlife sanctuary houses an ancient Shiva Temple which holds great importance among locals. People from all walks of life visit the temple to offer prayers on the eve of Mahashivratri. After visiting the shrine, you can also visit the Dalma Mai shrine after whom this sanctuary has been named.
3. Museum cum Interpretation center at Makulakocha
Museum cum Interpretation center at Makulakocha provides all the information related to flora and fauna of the region. Established to promote the biological and zoological research of the vegetation and zoological species, the center has all the information related to the species of animals in the century and much more.

Staying at the bamboo hut in Makulakocha offers you a chance to stay in the lap of nature. There are single bamboo huts as well as plush cottages surrounded by the abundance of flora.

Tip: If you are planning to visit during October to December then make sure to book in advance as the cottages are overbooked during this period.
