Day 2

We are so much engrossed in our daily life  that we doesn't have time to  do something that helps our mind to soothe or makes us happy.
I think travelling is one such aspect or habit which will never do harm. In fact it will give ur inner peace and will help u to be with urself,to be with nature. One such place I have recently visited is Jhargram. Like Puruliya, it's also a popular tourist destination in West Bengal.

Only 4hrs from Kolkata, Jhargram is the mixture of temples, palaces and natural beauty. The eminent spots which you can visit in Jhargram are-
1) Jhargram Palace-The best historical architecture that must be visited in Jhargram because of the structure and it's beauty. Standing it's head high towards the sky this architecture unfolds great stories of the Royal dynasty of that era. Jhargram Palace was founded by Sarveswar Singh in the year 1592AD.He with his brother who were the generals under Man Singh of Amer came to conquer Bengal under the order of Mughal emperor Akbar. He conquered and vanquished Mal king  who were ruling Junglekhand named at that time. After conquering Junglekhand, Raja Man Singh was very happy and he gave the mansabdari to Sarveswar Singh and his brother. Then he made his capital and named as Jhargram. In 1799,the ruler of Jhargram had a fight with East India Company  along with the rulers of Bishnupur and termed as ' Chuar Mutiny'. There is a beautiful garden in front of the palace. You can't able to enter inside the palace. The family of the dynasty still resides there and half of this structure has been tranformed into resort.
2) Kanak Durga Mandir-The main idol that the natives worship in Jhargram is Kanak Durga. This place is just 12 kms from Jhargram. The tranquility of this place will surely attract you to spend a couple of hours in the lap of nature.
Actually the name is Chilkigarh Kanak Durga Temple. You have to take Jamboni road and after travelling for 1hour you can find the gate of this temple accompanied by narrow lane full of greeneries on all sides. You will feel the sound of nature, the chirping of birds, and complete silence. After few minutes of walking you will see a counter. There you have to cut ticket of 15rupees.Then road to the temple is marvellous. The plants which you will see around mostly are medicinal plants. Wherever you will see you are surrounded  by greens. There are two temples. One is old and another is new. The story behind says that, Raja Gopinath Singh built this temple in the middle of 18th century. He had three queens. The king took away the  gold bangles of three queens and given to Kanak Durga. That's why the name of this idol is Kanak Durga. In the year 1960 the original gold Kanak Durga idol got misplaced and for more than 30 years the people of Jhargram worshipped without any idol. In 1996,an idol was made with Oct alloy which was placed there and people began to worship this idol.

3) Ghagra Falls-Ghagra falls is situated 40kms from Jhargram in Belpahari which is a small village. It is well known for its exquisite natural beauty, the silence and the tranquility. You can sit on the Rocky boulders beside the river and see the gushing out of the water through the boulders and the rumbling noise will give you an inner peace. Every year, hoards of people gather in this place to see the inexplicable beauty in here.
