Imagine you're standing on the sandy banks of Sangam, the holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers, as the night falls and the stars twinkle. Suddenly, you are dazzled by a splash of colours and a harmony of sounds, filling the air with wonder and awe.
And you feel the true spirit and essence of Prayag, the ancient city of confluence, in every fibre of your being. Sounds like a lucid dream, right? But it’s not. It will soon turn into a reality, as a spectacular light and sound show for visitors is already in the pipeline. Curious to know more? Read on!
A year-round spectacle with all-weather equipment
The tourism department has been instructed to prepare an action plan for this project, which aims to boost the tourism potential of Prayagraj. The light and sound show will be held every night after sunset, throughout the year, using high-end LED screens and weather-proof equipment. The show will also have different themes, such as ‘Kumbh/Maha Kumbh’, ‘Prayag’ and ‘Magh’, to cater to the diverse interests of the audience.
Other facilities to enhance the experience
The city will also have night markets at various locations near the riverfront, where visitors can shop and dine. Proper parking and toilet facilities will also be provided near Sangam, to ensure the convenience and comfort of the visitors. The light and sound show will be a special attraction for those who want to witness the beauty and spirituality of Prayagraj in a different light.
