INTRODUCTION

WAYS TO LAND AT LEH
BY LAND: Leh can be reached from Kashmir through a long and tiring channel/pass from Sonmarg via zozila pass. Although it is a bit tiresome but it guarantees full action packed adventure for especially the bike riders and those who rent bikes for their mode of travel.
Another advantage of travelling via zojila pass is that the traveller can travel from kashmir to leh via Kargil war memorial and Drass sector.
BY AIR: The most safest and convenient way to reach leh is from Delhi to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport. The airport is rather small and can accomodate flights and passengers for one time-travel only in any of the directions.
DRASS
One of the must visit place is Drass sector. This place has been holding the record of second most coldest inhabited place on earth.Its temperature dropped down to an unforgiving -60 degrees on Jan 9,1995. Its weather during the summer time is about 20-23 degrees. It also has got some beautiful sight seeing places.
KARGIL WAR MEMORIAL
As the name suggests, one of the prime attractions of Leh-Ladakh is the kargil war memorial. It is the place where the Indo-pak war was faught and is one of the place where every indian takes a bow towards those brave solders who faught against the infiltrated-pakisthani soldiers and many of them died on this platform. On the right side is the museum inside depicts each and every items of the war starting from the bombs, ammunitions to details of the war, the LOC [LINE OF CONTROL] from where the infiltration took place (the tiger hills). NUBRA VALLEY
The nubra valley is a cold desert valley that has got the double humped camel. It is a species of camel that inhabit in cold desert region and can survive in some of the coldest condition. It has got 2 distinguished humps on its back in contrast to ‘one’ found in most camels dwelling in hot deserts. The ‘double humped camel ride’ is a surety of pleasure and adventure for the tourists . The scenic beauty of the cold dessert add to the illustration of perfection.
The Nubra valley is the only place in India where double-humped camels are found. The temperature in the dessert is not that cold as one might guess from its name. Cold desert is named only because of the fact that these deserts are found in high altitude regions. These camels can survive in the cold weather during the winter seasons.
KHARDONGLA PASS
One of the famous mountain passes of India is what is the Khardongla pass. Many of them have heard of about it’s uniqueness and many didn’t. This mountain pass is claimed to be the HIGHEST MOTORABLE ROAD IN THE WORLD. At such high altitudes, many of the visitors have reported to experience mountain sickness and even breathing especially the old and the aged. To compensate for such environment, the Indian military force have established oxygen supply cylinders for those who experience such difficulty in breathing thus ensuring safe breathing to the individual. Such remidies are an essential and important part of travelling for those adventurous travelers out there. The road leading there is also claimed as one of the most challenging roads of India. Frequent melting of ice in regions above leads to heavy mini-waterfall blocking the region for crossing in either-ways. But friendly support of the natives ensure for safe crossing.

PANGONG LAKE
The pangong lake is one of the most tourist-attracting spot of leh-ladakh. The lake holds the record of the WORLD’S HIGHEST SALT WATER LAKE. It’s 30% of the region is in the Indian side and the rest 70% to the China side. The lake has a very cold temperature and remains frozen during winters. The scenic beauty of the lake followed by the colourful mountains in the background provides an intense satisfaction to all the tourists that explore them. It’s a photogenic place. Such high altitude lakes are very much hard to discover.
