Kashmir, the paradise on Earth, is geared up to increase the footfall of tourists. On National Tourism Day, the Srinagar heritage bus tour service has been launched with an idea to provide a differential experience for travellers.
As per the latest reports, the thought process behind the bus service is to acquaint the tourists with the ancient and rich cultural heritage and value of Kashmir.
Flagging Off the maiden bus service
On 25th January, Mr. Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary Tourism, flagged off the maiden heritage bus service. It is a noble attempt by the Department of Tourism to promote the heritage sites, handicrafts and cuisines of the valley.

The Department has invited about 22 tour operators from Pune and Maharashtra to visit certain destinations of Kashmir. It is an attempt to attract tourists to appreciate the cultural heritage of the valley. The bus service will further aid the initiative by enhancing the experience of the tourists. Dr GN Itoo, the Tourism Director of Kashmir, stated that they are hopeful that the tour operators will be able to inspire their clients to visit the heritage sites of the valley.
A unique experience for the tourists
The Srinagar heritage bus service will help in portraying a distinct image of the valley. We know Kashmir as a place with an abundance of nature's beauty, unparalleled and intriguing. But there is more in this valley, apart from its natural wonders. And that is its bountiful and rich cultural heritage that is royal and ancient.

There are several archaeological sites, shrines, mosques and temples from the ancient historical era. The artwork and handicrafts of Kashmir are elegant and diverse, signifying the intrinsic talent of the artists and craftsmen of the region. The expectation is to spread this authentic aspect of the valley to the tourists.
The route plan of the bus service
The key places of attractions selected as part of the route plan of the new bus service are Burzhama, Hariparbat, Chatipadshahi Gurudwara, Jamia Masjid, Hazratbal shrine, Buddhist Site Harwan, and Pari Mahal. There will be additional heritage sites in the journey for the visitors; symbolising the regional cultural and historical heritage. All in all, the tourists will be able to discover a different part of Kashmir, over and above the exotic natural wonders.

It's truly a proud moment for the Kashmiris, the bus service paving a way for a bright future in the tourism sector. The valley's heritage and ethnic value will be known by many.
