Is Kashmir safe to travel this winter ???

The most frequent question i get asked as a Traveler who has been to Kashmir multiple times is - Is it safe to travel to Kashmir & what all would we require ?? The answer is YES, Keeping in mind a few basic things you will surely have a fantastic trip this winters in Kashmir :)

IS THERE MOBILE NETWORK 🚫

- Airtel & Jio postpaid only work there (prepaid don't get network) Vodafone has no network. You can buy a local sim card for 500Rs for a month (2gb data) but again not available everywhere and easily.

RTPCR REQUIRED 📌

-Not if you are double Vaccinated

ARE DRONES ALLOWED ⛔️

- Officially No, Drones are not allowed in Kashmir, it can get confiscated but yes i did see 2 drones flying in Gulmarg.

ALCOHOL & CIGS 🥃

You will find a wine shop only in Srinagar not in Gulmarg or Pahalgam so best to carry your own. Cigs are available everywhere.

WHAT CLOTHES TO WEAR 👖🧤

- For winters make sure you have a Thermal wear / fleece / Jacket - 3 layers atleast and good pair of Gloves and shoes (Decathlon is my best bet for shoes in minus temperatures) Also shopping Locally is one of my favourite things to do that way you get back a little bit of the place you visit.

VEG & JAIN FOOD 🥘 - while Nonveg is what everyone lives on there, all options in food are easily available everywhere in restaurants and hotels.

WILL IT SNOW WHEN I GO ⛄️

- Check snow-weather.com or accuweather for the dates u want to go. Snowfall has begun in Gulmarg & Pahalgam 2022 and will remain till march 202

CAN I DO THIS TRIP ON MY OWN?

Yes you can, The hotels do get full in advance during winters as tourists are in full flow, Cabs are easily available locally but they do double their prices at such times, so get your bargaining game on.
