How many of us know that the Asia's largest tulip garden is in our country India? It is situated at the foothills of Zabarwan Range and is surrounded by the famous Dal Lake. You can't ask for a better location, right? The garden consists of many varieties of tulips and covers seven sloping terraces. Every year this garden is thrown open to public in around March and it lasts for a month only as the life span of tulips is very less. It's called the Tulip Festival in Kashmir. As soon as we step inside the garden, we could feel the refreshing smell of tulips and its so large that as far as our eyes can see, we can see the tulips. Besides seeing the tulips, the visitors enjoy the music that is played bybthe local artists and bands and can also enjoy lunch or snacks in the cafeteria that is situated inside the garden only. Besides this the visistors also enjoy the fountains and splashing of water to each other.
The garden gives a beautiful reflection of different types of tulips which differ in varieties and colours. Everything is planned in such a way that it looks soothing and beautiful to the eyes. Also beside is the famous botanical garden and visitors often pay a visit after they are done with the tulip garden. The zabarwan mountains are visible from this garden and it adds to its beauty and is more dominant in overcast conditions.
