The cafe culture in Kashmir is trending these days with new themed based cafes and variety of cuisines. There might be many more to explore but in my list the following 5 cafes are a must visit for a cafe lover.
2) Books & Bricks
The Books and Bricks is among my favourite hangouts for the brunch time. The theme of the cafe is as the name suggests "Books & Bricks". The floor and half of the walls are covered with bricks and the other half is covered with the sticked pages of books. Apart from everything else the beautifully done wooden ceiling enhances the whole theme of the cafe. The food is also really good, Lamb Burger and the Chicken Sandwich is among my favourites and is worth a try.
3) HukusBukus
Hukusukus is derived from a kashmiri Riddle which means "Who is he and Who am I". The cafe is a little hard to find as it is a little far from the city and the commercial area but if you are looking for some alone quality time away from the city then this is the perfect place for you. The cafe is located in the small streets of Rajbagh area and has a very beautiful Back yard which can be used for small events like a musical evening.
4) Winterfell Cafe
As the name suggests the cafe is a Game of throne theme based cafe with GOT miniatures and quotes bringing life to the theme. The cafe is a treat for the eyes of a GOT fan and a very nice attempt to bring the GOT fans under one roof in the Stark motherland. The cafe is located just opposite the the famous Dal lake so not very difficult to find.
5) Goodfellas
The "Goodfellas" name has been derived from the famous hollywood film Goodfellas, The cafe even had a Goodfellas themed menu earlier. The Cafe is owned by an artist so one can see an artistic touch in every corner of the cafe. This is a perfect spot for the Art lovers who want to spend some quality time. They even have an artistic attic upstairs which can be used for small meetings or discussions. The cafe is located just adjacent to the ChaiJaai cafe like wisely facing the Jehlum.
