After our one night stay in Sultan Resort near Sam Sand Dunes, we checked in for our second night stay in Jaisalmer in Hotel Tokyo Palace. As we wanted to enjoy both a tent stay amidst the dessert & a hotel stay with a view of the Jaisalmer Fort, we could manage both in 2 nights stay at Jaisalmer.
Before booking we were looking out for stay options inside the Jaisalmer fort & we found a hotel with the best city view & highly rated Hotel Garh Jaisawal. But due to contact issues we couldn't manage to book in the same. So rather we choose to stay in the hotel that could give us a view of the fort which is suppose to look like gold at sunrise. And quite happy with our decision it was a pleasant stay.

This hotel is located at a walking distance of 5 mins from the main market & the Golden Fort. Being a budget friendly hotel the service was very good.
The Hotel architecture looks like a typical Rajasthani Haveli with traditional engravings. The owner of this hotel has been working in Tokyo as a manager of Indian restaurant Bombay Palace. His rich experiences in Japan give the hotel high and warm-hearted services and because of his experiences you will find lot of foreign tourists here.
There are 4 types of rooms available:
1) Suite Deluxe Room
2) Deluxe Room
3) Standard Room
4) Dormitory
We booked 4 rooms of Suite Deluxe & Deluxe Room each. All the rooms were spacious with clean linens. The walls of the room are made from the yellow sandstone which are found in Jaisalmer, giving the city a golden look on sunrise.
The room cost includes breakfast. The food here is very good. For breakfast we had Toasts,Eggs,Poha,Paratha, Puri Bhaaji(mix vegetable), Fruits & many more which were quite tasty.
As for dinner we opted to go out & explore the various options available.
We had our dinner at D'Desi Aroma a fine dine restaurant where you can gorge on some tasty à la carte or authentic rajasthani thalis.
The hotel also has a swimming pool for their guests to chill & relax. We couldn't enjoy the pool coz it was under renovation. The hotel also has a roof top restaurant where your indulge in some delicious food. This restaurant has the amazing view of the Golden Fort (Jaisalmer Fort). Guests can take plenty of time adoring the view of fort at night when the fort is lit up with lights & also early morning on sunrise where the rays fall on the fort making it look so beautiful.
This is one of the best budget friendly option to stay in Jaisalmer with amazing food , beautiful & clean rooms , near to the famous tourist spots & more importantly the view you get to see. Had a delightful experience at the Hotel Tokyo Palace.
