It was a regular day for me, I was at my office working like normal days.
Suddenly my phone rang and when I saw my phone I was a bit confused as it was my cousin's call, which was not very close to me. we only talk on occasions and on that day I knew that there was not any kind of occasion. I picked her to call and she asked me " hey, where are you now?"
and I was like "dude this is my office time, so where u are expecting me" then she said, "do you wanna go to Jaisalmer with us". My question is "us? with your boyfriend" and she politely said to me "fool, us means all of our cousins, I just want to explore my last bachelor life with you guys". My next question was "when we are planning to go?" she said "now".
after listing this I am too excited and Lil bit shocked also as it was my first trip with my cousins. I just went to my boss office and tell me that I am going for a leave of 5 days and he was ok with this because of my past record.
They picked me up from my office and my first 'Road trip with my cousins' started.
We were enjoying while travelling from Jaipur to Jaisalmer, we picked national highway to reach Jaisalmer and here I have a suggestion for you all, please! please! please! if you want to enjoy your road trip never ever try to reach your destination in one shot. take more and more stops as these stops make your road trip memorable.
We take around 7 stops and our major stop was Jodhpur where we stayed in the night and that stop was much-needed as we were so exhausted and we want some rest to enjoy our whole road trip.
It was a nice lodge where we have stayed as the view from its rooftop is mesmerizing, this makes our morning more beautiful.
Blue City, a dream destination for many travellers. This was the view which we got from the lodge roof. after having some breakfast we again started our journey from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. First two hours of our journey is like we were shivering even after using heater because of the cold weather but when we enter the borders of Jaisalmer it was like a change for us. we stopped at a Dhaba before Jaisalmer fort and ate some parathas and tea.
Our main aim was to watch a nice sunset and for that, we were asking locals to suggest someplace, and after so many suggestions we decided to go to SAM SAND DUNES, as that was also the place where we had to stay.
Everything is good if you will find a good company, either it is yourself or your people.
Overall Experience was pretty good but Jaisalmer is not for a long trip. As you get bored with the heat in the daytime.
Important information:
Jaisalmer is a land of Sand, so expects some sand in your food also because of wind.
After that mesmerizing sunset view, we head towards our camps which we booked by a hotel in Jaisalmer city. The place was too good as it offers
- Camping in Sand
- Dinner
- Breakfast
- DJ Night
- Cultural Dance
- Desert Safari
- Camel Ride
and this all we got in Rs 1000/- per head.
First, we participated in cultural activities at our camps and then at 11 pm we asked our driver (which we got for desert safari) to take us to the centre of dunes so that we go camping in the night as we want to sleep under the stars.
I am not able to write the experience of Thar ride through the dunes. But I have just one word for that experience "AWESOME"
We slept under the skies and in the morning the desert looks like GOLD SAND
We move towards our camps and did our breakfast and we had thoughts of the night which we had not experienced in our 26 years of life. As the sun is moving on our head and it becomes too hot to stay in the dune. So, we decided to pack our bags and left to Jaisalmer city as we also have to explore our history.
In between, we find so many small businesses like adventure sports, cafes etc. and we decided to do some adventure. So, we did parasailing.
