Rajasthan has always been centre of attraction to traveller. And it should be, coz every city containing historical architectural marvels, beautiful places, rich culture, a good variety of endemic food and artists with a brave history. I also have been at many historical cities of Rajasthan, but today I am gonna talk about a nature’s wonder not man made gems. It is the golden sand dunes of Sam in Jaisalmer. Sam is situated 40 kms from Jaisalmer city. One can hire a taxi or bike easily and reach there. Local guide are in abundance in Jaisalmer. We 6 friends started our journey on Bikes and reached Sam within an hour. On the way one can see parasailing at 3-4 spots. As soon as we reached Sam, we were astonished by seeing the desert. The sand was golden in colour and was scintillating in sunlight. It was an amazing site. You just see sand and only sand upto the limit of your eyesight. There were many local people dressed in traditional Rajasthani dresses. Ladies were dancing on folk songs and camel safari was available with jeep Safari. Friends the rate depends upon the season. If it is peak like oct-jan it can cost you upto 500₹ for camel ride and 5000₹ for jeep safari otherwise in off season you can get a camel ride for as low as 20₹ and jeep safari for 1200₹. We enjoyed the camel ride over the ups and downs of sand dunes. It was a great experience and when the camel runs your adrenaline also rushes. We danced for some times and then the most beautiful thing happened- The Sunset. Yes guys sunset is the most beautiful thing to see in Sam. The fading red sun gives a golden look to desert by giving it the most beautiful view and it seems that liquid gold is on the whole desert. It was mesmerising. We then stayed in the camps. There are many options for stay. We enjoyed the cultural program and where local people danced over folk songs in traditional dresses. Then we danced on the beats of DJ. In the end had the local food in dinner. The Dal- Bati was really delicious. One must try it. We slept peacefully in our tents and returned next morning with that golden look in mind and local tune on the lips with a broad smile and bucket of beautiful memories.
