Touch - What is better than the touch of rose petals? As soon as you enter the hotel they shower you with rose petals and give you a royal welcome. This is seen in various Hindi movies during the traditional welcome.

Hear- Their welcome tradition involves playing loud drums as well as a few other traditional Indian instruments as you walk in.

See - The palatial hotel lobby is a beautiful sight to see. You enter through a royal door and get into the garden. Then you walk to the lobby. The sight of the hotel is a marvel as it looks like a fort.

Smell - For smell, there is nothing better than smelling the rose petals which are showered over you. The hotel also has the scent of history.

Taste - The welcome drink which is served is great.

THE ROOM

The room is designed with a Royal palatial bed. The mascot of the hotel is a parrot and they have small parrot statues in every room. They have tried to incorporate this theme in other parts of the hotel. The bathtub in the room is one of the best things because it is literally the biggest bathtub that I have ever experienced at a hotel. The Maharanis bathed in huge bathtubs with bath salts and rose petals. The huge bathtub in the room enhanced the experience and made it very exquisite. When I reached the room, all I wanted to do was drop and relax on the cozy bed.

THE SPA

The spa at the hotel has the speciality of therapies which align the body chakras to create a more positive and relaxed mindset. They give the therapies based on your horoscope and it feels very personal. The ambience of the spa was fantastic and it had a jacuzzi inside. A grand vibe was associated with the jacuzzi as they served tea after I was back from there. The ancient tradition of spas exists since ages where Maharanis and princesses bathed in huge tubs together and had their maids giving them a bath. The Amer Fort has a huge spa area in it which was present for the Maharanis. The spa at the Fairmont takes the tradition one step ahead with their life changing therapies.

THE POOL

The pool at the hotel is grand and it is not shaped like any average pool. It has a separate women’s bathing area to keep with the ancient tradition where women and men don’t bathe together. Nothing beats the ambience around the pool, it includes a fort, mountains, scenic greenery and the wonderful backdrop of The Fairmont Hotel.

THE GYM

The gym at the hotel is grand and it has a chandelier in between. It is a wonderful ambience to work out around. Equipped with state of the art machines and some heavy weights, it is all you need for that extra pound of muscle gain.

THE GOLD LOUNGE

What can be better for Royalty than a Gold lounge? The Gold lounge is exclusively for the members who stay in the Gold room. With a rustically curated high tea consisting of both English and Indian declicesies, the food was just wonderful. With some wonderful samosas and Rajasthani heritage served on the plate, there was also gathiya, bhujiya and mint chutney. The English high tea was called English Charlie and it had an array of madeleines, sandwiches, paninis, pastries and some wonderful desserts.

ZOYA

Zoya looks like a war tent belonging to a Mughal emperor. Enough said. The ambience is Royal and awe gazing at the same time. Zoya is the main restaurant at the hotel where they serve their breakfast as well as have an a-la-carte menu for meals. For breakfast, I had a rich variety of South Indian food like dosas and idlis. I also had a variety of parathas and milkshakes. I ended the meal with some waffles drizzled with nutella and strawberries and some pancakes.

The best thing about this restaurant was that they had around 10 different flavors of butter including chilli garlic, basil etc.

They also have Rajasthani and Italian options for food here. I personally recommend their pizza and their Tom Yum soup. I loved their desserts as well. The furniture here is made of ivory and is really expensive.

ZARIN

Zarin has the ambience of the court of a Royal Mughal emperor. The curtains are draped and the lights cast beautiful shadows on the walls for dinner. With fantastically interwoven architecture belonging to the Mughal era, Zarin serves various different types of Thalis. Their Rajasthani thali is delicious and it is one of the biggest Thalis that I have ever tried.

AMBIENCE AT THE HOTEL

With everything that I have already told you about the hotel, it is not difficult to imagine the grandeur of the hotel. It was royalty is its maximum.

HOW TO GET THERE

The hotel is located in Kookas, which is an hour away from the main city of Jaipur. It provides solitude away from the bustle of the city and has a princely feeling of open space which no crowded place can provide. Standing tall with enormous royalty and extravagance, the palace like exterior of the hotel showers beauty over all the royal guests who have the pleasure of visiting.
