Bellagio: Pearl of Lake Como is perfect for your next vacay

Cobbled lanes, cute cafes and a food heaven, Bellagio in Lake Como of Italy will take your heart away in one breath. This small village in Italy will surely make you skip a beat. Also known as Pearl of Lake Como, this village has a beautiful lake promenade.

Lake Como has many beautiful small villages, but this place will always be my favourite. I stayed in Bellagio for three days in April in a cute Airbnb, Casa Marina overlooking the lake. The village is famous for its Gothic style cathedral and silk. You can also find shops selling Italian leather and handmade wooden toys.

The cafes overlooking the lake are perfect to spend your evenings. It is a very small village and can be explored within one or two hour.

How to reach Bellagio

If you are flying from Delhi, there is a direct flight to Milan. From Milan, you can take a cab to Bellagio. You can also take a train to Varenna and then a ferry to this beautiful village. It is one hour away from Milan.

Things to do in Bellagio

Bellagio is so small that you can visit the whole town in one hour. There is an old town with cobbled lanes and a cathedral. You can go wine tasting, shop local silk from cute boutiques and soak in some sun on the promenade.

You can also go to the Cathedral of Basilica of San Giacomo, which is in the old town. Before lunch, take a stroll in the gardens of Punta Spartivento.

There is also a viewpoint, Salita Serbelloni. You can go its end until you reach Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, from where you can admire the wonderful little street and its collection of colorful buildings and shops. If you still have time, take a ferry to other villages of Lake Como province, including Como, Varenna and Menaggio.
