It all started in the year 2008 ! I was in class 5th and that is when I visited this amazing place for the first time. Well, I realized how amazing this place was later when I visited it coz on that day in 2008, I was shit scared ! It was one of our school picnics to this mystical place 45 kms from Indore known as Janapav. It is a perfect getaway from city life and also the perfect combination of views, stories and faith.

Anyway, coming back to my scary story. The reason I was scared is because Janapav is also known for people coming here to get rid of spirits and mystical problems. And it was one of those days when one such process was being carried out ! Let' s just save me further embarrassment and leave it as it was a scary start to an amazing day !

So Janapav, as I mentioned before has something for everyone and never disappoints anyone ! It holds a great relevance from a religious point of view. It is the birth place of the great Parshuram, who is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Parshuram ji is one of the important deities as far as Hinduism is concerned. You will find a temple here which is made in honour of this great guru. There is a strange sense of peace you feel when you visit here.

From a geographical point of view too, Janapav is a quite important site. It can rightly be called the crown of Vindhyanchal range of mountains as it is the highest peak of the range. It stands at a height of 854 feet and the views from the top are something worth living for !

Another very interesting aspect for Janapav is the presence of medicinal herbs spread across the mountain. It is said the Parshuram's mother , Renuka mata was a renowned medical practitioner and she planted these herbs here. Even today, people from across the country come here in search of these herbs.

See, didn't I tell you, Janapav doesn't disappoint anyone. It has something for everyone. And reaching here is also so easy and it is very accessible. It is located very close to the Indore Mumbai bypass. It is a 4km drive on a single road on the Janapav Kuti, which is a village right next to the highway. And that's not it, you can take your car right up the mountain as there is a proper uphill road which leads straight to this beauty and once you reach here, it is absolute bliss !
