What is an Inner Line Permit?
Incase you are not aware, there are some states in India that require an ILP in order to enter the state.
Inner Line Permit (ILP) is an mandatory official travel document issued by the Government of India to allow inward travel of an Indian citizen into a protected area for a limited period.
Basically the idea behind an ILP is to regulate the movements to areas around the international borders.

You need a passport size photo and a valid ID proof inorder to apply for an ILP.

What happens if I lost my ILP during my journey?
Report to the nearest police station and a new ILP can be issued for a fine of 400 Rs approx.
It would be best to make multiple copies of your ILP incase you lose it or the homestays require a copy of it.
