Unplugged Doon Valley

My second visit to Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand and this time to its capital city, Dehradun. One of the most enchanting city amidst the foothills of the mighty Himalayas.

Dehradun is 6-7 hours journey by road & train from Delhi, and I opted for Neugo Bus to travel. There are two routes to Doon, I went via:

Delhi ⇢ Ghaziabad⇢ Meerut ⇢ Muzzafarpur ⇢ Roorkee ⇢ Haridwar ⇢ Rishikesh ⇢ Doon

The most beautiful part of the bus journey was Haridwar, giving 180 degree view of the Ghat's, the Ganga and Har ki Pauri.

Rajpur Road is the hustling & lively road and highly recommended for travellers to make their stay. Clock Tower is located on Rajpur road and it's the heart of the city. It was Christmas Eve, city was all glittering and shining. #goodvibes🎄

Walk. stroll. explore.

What? The streets of Doon, the Paltan Bazaar, the cafe's and famous Ellora Bakery (trust me I'm not a cheesecake lover but they really serve the delicious one).

What we couldn't explore with two feet, we did it with 2-Wheels. Rented a scooty!

Sahastradhara

The ride to Sahastradhara was full of beautiful scenic Mountain Views. It was like that picture from the yearly calendar came live. Sahastradhara, which means "thousand fold spring" is popular for medicinal water spring. There are numerous water pools created, where water flows stepwise. Water level during winters was minimal but during summer's & monsoons the place just blossoms, with high water flow & lush greenery.

Joyland water & amusement park - reach by ropeway (INR 200 PP), gives you bird eye view of Sahastradhara. Timing: 9.30 AM - 6.00 PM

Song river flows here, which is a tributary of river Ganga.

Robber's Cave

During the British period, this was the hiding place of the robber's. Also knows as Guchhupani, it's a 600 m long naturally formed cave divided in two parts. The water flows inside the cave and while caving it gives you thrills & chills as you walk in the flowing water.

Rent footwear (INR 10 Per pair), Warm up with Kulhad Chai, and enjoy the street delicacies.

Timing: 7 AM to 6 PM || Entry Charges: INR 25 PP

Mindrolling Monastery

Calm, serene, blissful, positive vibes, prayerful chantings. An evening here is what you need after a hustling day of exploring. This gem can't be missed when you're in Doon. Oh! This place has a small eatery, Buddha Temple cafe. Must try their hot coffee & brownie (yum!)
