Uttarakhand is a popular destination for Char Dham yatra. Thousands of devotees visit Kedarnath and Badrinath every year; but there is another center of faith popular among devotees visiting this state.
Dhari Devi temple is located only 15 km away from Srinagar towards Rudraprayag. Dhari maa is considered to be the protector of Char Dham. There are plenty legends of how Dhari maa has saved the place from annual floods. The upper part of goddess Kali is believed to reside here. Other than the devotees, travelers would love this place for its unmatched location. The temple is built on the Alaknanda river and has the Himalayan mountains on both sides. One has to climb down the stairs from the main road (NH 58).
The temple is peaceful and less crowded in the afternoons. Cool river breeze keeps flowing continuously.
