Photo of A colour full sunrise...! by HARSHA VARDHAN VARMA

Probably, time is 7:30pm is local time in chikmanglur, after a long journey I reached my Dormitory which I prefer always to stay in my travel. Naveen at Zostel reception asked 1 or 2 formality questions to check-in. He took a Photo ID proof of mine and asked to follow him to show directions to my bed.

Dormitory, there was nobody by the time I entered, I asked Naveen how many beds are filled?
7 out of 8 he said.
I took 15min to get freshened up & relaxed for another 15min on my 6*3feet space.

In my bed, I am writing down  my expenses and calculating. A group of 3 guys has come in with heavy luggage. I helped a little & offered a coffee. They said they are so tired & want to relax now.

Other 2 girls and a boy has come in, as usual I said hello to all of them.

I am in my routine, also looking for dinner call as well.

I gave some space to them and sat in open space by just watching TV.

Naveen came & told - Dinner is ready & hot to serve.

I said will see you in 5 min.

A girl has come out first for dinner & asked if I m SOLO.

I said Yes.

"Would you like to join for a dinner". She asked

I said okay let's go as I am waiting for dinner call.

I introduced myself to her: I am Harsha Vardhan, travel enthusiast, freak, foodie, currently covering south India.

She introduced herself: I am Punitha, techie in TCS, passionate about painting.

Why your friends hasn't come for dinner? I asked her.

I am alone here, nobody has come with me here. It is a solo trip. She replied.

Who are other two, who came along with you? I asked her.

Hey, Harsha I just met them in reception & Naveen has shown directions to all of us together. She replied.

We are enjoying a nice dinner in a colour full garden space while temperature is just 14°c outside. I am not even wearing Jacket BTW.

To get into any conversation, What else you do you? I asked her.

I asked about her travel interest & asked why she is alone here. Because, we will see less female solo Travellers

Punitha: I am from Mumbai, want to learn a lot in my experiences, bacpacking India to capture into my BOOK.

Wait, what did you say just now? U steal into a book? I asked.

I am a painter, Landscape painter. She replied.

I am just Wow to hear that, I wanted to see previous paintings I said. I finished dinner so quickly to check her paintings.

She finished in no hurry, walked together until room where other fellow travelers were eating at different tables.

I was waiting at TV room which is in off, she went inside room, got a book in her hand. Passed it to me, "Colours are captured inside" written on cover page.

I am so excited to see those,

Turned page 1: A small girl in a country side is enjoying a cradle ride which is tied to a coconut tree on a river while her father is just standing & enjoying her smiles.

That was so good, I can see small little details in that painting, she doesn't want to miss any details. End of the page, there is here signature with date. This was painted 2 years ago. In a 50 page sketch book, almost many pages has painted. I had a look into all paintings which are better and better from previous page. I gave compliments to her paintings. We had a nice talk for few hours, in the room as well and went to bed.

Next day: I have scheduled to watch a sunrise, woke up early, got freshened, jacket is on, shoes are tied up about to leave place in couple of minutes.

Punitha has come out and asked, hey Harsha: Good morning and where are you going so early?

I am excited to watch sunrise in Mullayanagiri hills may miss even if I m 5 min late. So I m rushing. I said.

She checked if she can come along with me to watch sunrise. I  looked into my watch, I will join in just 5 min, she said.

I will wait here, join me, I said.

To my surprise, she even didn't took 5 min, ready with her painting book & other stuff.

A Autorickshaw driver suppose to pick me up by this time, but he is late & had a doubt of missing view. So I joined you. Punitha said shortly.

I drove towards Mullayanagiri hills & reached view point after 45min drive and 20min trek.

Sun hasn't come out by the time, I settled on a small rock to get the best view. She settled in a comfortable place to enjoy.

Sun started to come out slowly from mountains on a winter mist day in Mullayanagiri view point

I m looking at sun, he is so beautiful, amazing, want to freeze moment, capture some in my camera, I wish to be like this ever and looked at Punitha what she is doing. She is busy in painting. I didn't disturbed at all.

After spending over 1 hr there, we are leaving this place. Before leaving, how was this view, any comments? I asked.

She opened her painting book & showed it to me by telling this is how it is.

Hey, it is stunning, spectacular, amazing and I can't compare which one is real. She painted really  really good. What a talent she has. I complimented her once again. Details are so particular

I can see all her explanation, thoughts, feeling about this view in painting.

She thanked me for that ride to make this happen. I dropped at a nearest place where public transportation is available to reach our room. She went to room after this, I headed to explore some more as per plan.

Over all, the sun rise view in Mullayanagiri hills is never before experience to me. Hope I visit this again to have same experience
