Tawang an Adventure Paradise

Tawang is the border town of India demarcating the ALOC(Actual Line of Control) between India and China. Its located at around 13000 ft in Arunachal Pradesh(Land of Rising Sun).

Nearest Airport - Tezpur, but the best connectivity is from Guwahati Airport.

Nearest Railway Station - Guwahati

I have traveled there in Nov 2017, it was a family trip. Day 1- We have taken the morning flight from Delhi to Guwahati, reached Guwahati in afternoon and then we Visited the sacred Kamakhya Temple (one of the shakti peeth in India). One day is more than enough to visit this Temple. If you want to visit Guwahati then plan for two days

Day 2- Started from Guwahati in the morning as it is advisable to reach Bomdila( Approx. 120 KM before Tawang) before sunset as Road conditions are not good enough but no need to get scared, you will enjoy the mountain ride. We reached Bomdila at around 7 PM and took the accommodation in Circuit House Bomdila.

Day 3 - We have started in the early morning around 7 AM from Bomdila for Tawang, so we would be able to reach there before sunset. The road from Bomdila to Tawang is one of the best scenic route I have ever seen. You will find a blend of green and stony the mighty himalayas.

Between Tawang and Bomdila there is a place name Sela Pass which is the highest point of this route viz. 13500 ft. I was astound once reach there. It was shivering cold and the Mountains were covered with snow. I cant explain the beauty of this place. At evening around 5 PM we have reached Tawang and checked-in into hotel name- Mon Paradise (One of the few good hotels in Tawang).

Day 4 - On day 4 we have visited Tawang Monastery, second largest in the world, local market, chaksam hanging bridge (hand made hanging bridge in 15th century).

Day 5  - On day 5 we have started early morning for Bumla Pass (Indo- China border at 13800 ft approx.), this is the best place I have seen during my Tawang visit. It will take around 3 hours to reach there and only local Tata Sumo can take you. The road to Bumla Pass is an heritage road which has never been touched by Indian government after it was being built by China to invade India during 1962 war. But once you reach there all your frustrations of journey will go. On the way you will witness a beautiful lake named Madhuri Lake - named after Koyala movie shooting, you will be able to have snacks there at very reasonable rate- tanks to our Indian Army. This was the last place in our trip.
