Living root bridge, Meghalaya

Right in the abode of clouds, the northeastern state of Meghalaya is home to the living root bridges, which are handmade bridges constructed from the roots of trees. These bridges are truly a sight to behold and are strong enough to support the weight of humans. They are an amazing sight to see and a great way to experience the culture of this region.

The village of Damro Gidum in Arunachal Pradesh has a suspension bridge made of ropes and bamboo that spans 1,000 feet across the River Yamne. The bridge is held between suspension cables with a walkway made of halved bamboo for panelling used as protection. Crossing this bridge is an experience you won't soon forget, especially when you look down at the river below and see the stunning display of colourful fishes hopping up and down. Fishing and angling are also popular activities here, so be sure to bring your gear if that's something you're interested in.

It spans a gorge that is 1000 feet deep and connects the villages of Chicham and Kibber. The bridge was built to reduce the travel time between Kibbar and Losar by 40 km. Kemmannu Hanging Bridge, Udupi

The Kemmannu Hanging Bridge is a hidden tourist attraction in Udupi located 7.5 km from Delta Beach. It was originally built to connect the two banks of the Swarna River but has now become a popular location for kayaking, river rafting and other adventure sports. The journey to the bridge is through a scenic backdrop of coconut trees and wilderness which makes it an ideal place to connect with nature.
