As usual, I started dreaming about north trip and landed up in exploring southern part of India. This time it was almost 10 days we keep navigating through multiple States viz Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Goa. This blog is all about why we really want to cover few places again.

We reached Udupi, via Sindhudurg-Goa-Karwar along the costal drive.

From Udupi we moved towards Coimbatore by choosing Madikeri route instead of entering from Kerala. this route offer some great views after during Madikeri and Talamalai forest.

It can also be clubbed with Science museum , a display of old appliances and their evolution.

Since you can cover this in the morning and you must target Adiyogi center at evening , you will find plenty of time to roam around coimbatore. We opted to visit Marudhamalai Arulmigu Subramanya Swami temple because of its scenic location.

Consider the traffic chaos here, so avoid taking car at hill top during peak time. There are frequent busses from base to hill-top.

Evening is perfect time to visit Isha temple and shiva statue. Now a days its must visit place if you are in Coimbatore. To cover all the places inside the foundation you should be mentally ready for 4-5 KM walk. At evening wait for the light-sound show at Shiva statue.

As we are done with Coimbatore , next target was hill-station from Kerala. Considering the typical crowded places during summer , Vagamon and Valparai was our options and we decided to explore Vagamon.

Why : Due its accessibility as well as vast beautiful landscaping, plantation.

Nearby places :

Arch Dam = too much to walk , only preferable after monsoon

Pine forest, Vagamon meadows = landscaping

Or even driving in and around is enough to refresh your mind!

When you are in Vagamon, Just drive here and there

From Kerala , we decided to revisit "last road of India". On the way one can include Madurai Temple. After a whole day drive , at evening we found calm and less crowded temple visit.

Places to cover : APJ Abdul Kalam's House and Museum, Pamban Bridge, Rameshwaram temple, Dhanushkodi, Scuba diving,

Nearby Place : Ramanathpuram , Kanyakumari

So we are about to start return journey , around 1500KM to go. Initially we were again thinking to reach Bangalore via Madurai, but Just heard about "Tanjavar" and route diverted via Tanjavar.

Why : One of the biggest temple from south , with architecture marvel.

Places to cover here: Mostly all places are around Big temple. Saraswati Mahal library, Maratha Palace, Royal Palace Museum,

Souvenir: Dancing doll, Local handcraft

A quick visit if you are nearby Bangalore. It includes a short hike which redeems a great view of the temple.

Why : Jain Temples are always built with innovative shapes.

With this we keep navigating towards Pune , after clocking approximate 4000KM in less than 2 wks. After visiting so many places , different food and interacting with many people I still find few places that I have to visit for the next time :) and may be another south trip for that!
