If you want to travel ,but still can not because your other travel mates are not getting leaves from their offices ,or they have other financial priorities ,or any other xyz issues,because of which your travel plan is getting postponed everytime from a long time ......

Then No worries ,just pack your bag and start heading towards your travel city ..just like I did few months back ..my first ever solo trip .

1)You can get the registered travel agents information from below link,Or once you reach gangtok you can ask the hotel members for permits , they will guide you.

2)Once you are in touch with one of the travel agent , ask them to make a permit for you. For north sikkim , lachen ,nathula pass permit is required. Please apply for permit one day prior to your travel date towards north sikkim/lachungathulla pass.

3)Local Drinks must Try: Tongba(Made from local grains , served in a bamboo pot with bamboo straw), you can call it as warm beer , tastes awesome.

The nearest airport to Sikkim is Bagdogra airport which is located 4.5 hrs away from Gangtok .My flight was from Bangalore at early morning 5 a.m .So I started at midnight and reached airport by 3.

Its always good to reach at your destination city early morning .so that you will get the entire day to explore the place ..and also early morning view is different in every place .

Reached at Bagdogra airport by 6:30 a.m ,from airport there are cabs to Gangtok ,they charge 2500 to 3500

But you can travel just at 250 ,if you start walking from airport and reach Siliguri bustop some how.

From siliguri bustop you can get lots of shared cabs who charge only 250rs to reach Gangtok .it's a 10 member shared cab .so I reached Gangtok by 12 p.m

Explored local market 'mg market ',apply for the permits through travel agent

Heading towards Lachung by a shared cab of 10 people ,provided by one of the tour operator .

Cost: 1500 per person including homely stay,dinner ,next day breakfast and lunch .

Within this 1500 rs they provide you a cab to travel to North sikkim ,which takes 7 hrs to reach . You will be directly reaching to a paying guest kind of house by the cab ..which is completely homely . They will provide you snacks ,tea and then dinner as well ,proper homely food. Next day morning breakfast ,then travel to yumthang valley and other local attractions ,then come back to homely stay and take delicious lunch . All these are included within that 1500 package ,which is quite amazing and cheap

Ater taking breakfast we headed towards yumthang valley by crossing many icy greenery mountains in between .Though we could not reach at the end of the yumthang valley because due to heavy snow fall it was not allowed to go further ,still I got the best view of that day ..and best food as well .

In between snow ,with chilled temperature..when u take the hot momos into your mouth .That's also a kind of happiness,and I had tested the best ever momos there.

Around 2 pm we came back to our home stay ,had chicken and rice in lunch ..The Best thing I observed about sikkim food is ,they don't use zinger and garlic,Hence very less oil too ..and still the curry is very tasty ..so you can see super healthy and tasty food at one plate ,I guess thts why their skin are so clear.

After having lunch we started back towards Gangtok and reached by evening around 8

I took permission for changu lake on previous day and started at morning 9 .ait took 3hrs to reach there.

So again one more day in between beautiful mountains .

Last day in Gangtok ,I hired a cab which charged 2500 rs for local site seen .Luckily I found another solo traveller at the cab booking point and we splited the fare. Evening I went to local market which is MG market ,purchased some unique item which is authentic to Sikkim,I usually collect one unique authentic thing form every individual place,when I do travel.

Next day return to siliguri via shared cab then catch my return flight to Bangalore
