Navratri, a nine day festival, is celebrated with great fervor and zeal every year. It is one of the auspicious and divine festivals held in several parts of India. Many families perform vrat or fast as they offer their prayers and seek blessings of Goddess Durga. The different incarnations of Goddess Durga - Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skanda Mata, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri, are worshipped for 9 days. Consuming non-vegetarian foods, onion, and garlic are restricted.

But, there are several dine-outs or restaurants across India which serve Navratri special thalis; keeping in mind the food restrictions. Location: Branches across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Assam

The restaurant offers food from the South Indian, North Indian and Chinese cuisine. It serves pure vegetarian food perfect for Navratri. With its mouth-watering menus, Sagar Ratna restaurants continue to entice food lovers in huge numbers. You can even order the food online from Zomato. The thalis comprise mainly of sabudana papad, singhara-kuttu pooris, samak chawal khichdi, paneer sabzi, aloo sabzi, arbi sabzi, raita, aabudana kheer. Each of the dishes are unique in taste and flavour, especially due to the ghee used to cook for garnish.

Price: Two types of Navratri special thalis are available at Sagar Ratna – Navratra Executive Thali, priced at INR 310 and Navratra Deluxe Thali, priced at 350.

2. Chaayos

Chaayos is a prominent food chain, specializing mostly in tea. Yet their Navratri Thali is quite famous. They have only one variety for thali, but they serve a snack platter too best suited those observing fast. You can feel the aroma of ghee in their dishes. The specialties of the restaurant are the lips-smacking dishes of paneer like paneer pakoda, paneer sabzi etc. They serve green chutney, meethi chutney, plain curd, kuttu paneer pakoda, aloo sabzi, tomato paneer, kaddu ki sabzi, 3 small sized rotis, and dry petha as a dessert in the thali. You can either dine-out or order online from Zomato. The food packaging is good, neat and attractive.

Price: The Navratri thali is priced at INR 349.

3. Band Baaja Baarat

Location: A-6 Ground Floor, Vishal Enclave, Rajouri Garden, Delhi

Navratri specials are a unique aspect of the restaurant. It is one of the most popular restaurants in Delhi. They offer Navratri thali as well as a buffet. You can enjoy the buffet both during lunch and dinner. The dishes of the thali comprises of paneer tikka, pineapple tikka, aloo ki sabzi, paneer kofta, raita, samak ke chawal, poori, rasmalai, and kheer. The buffet menu mainly includes panipuris, pao bhaji, Navratri special aloo tikki, papdi chaat, and malai paneer tikka. There are live counters at the buffet corners where you can select your preferred dishes to be cooked in front of you. The ambience of the place is extremely friendly and lively too.

Price: The thali is priced at INR 299. The price of the buffet lunch is INR 549 and that of dinner is INR 799.

The restaurant is one of the prominent ones in Delhi, offering dine-out, take-away as well as online orders. The food is tasty, the staff is user-friendly and the service is super excellent. Their special Navratri Thali includes paneer makhani, aloo sabzi, swank ka papad, kuttu aata puri, salad, curd, and sabudana kheer.
