Located at the border dividing Garhwal and Kumaon in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, the gorgeous and serene meadows of Ali Bedni Bugyal are amongst the most beautiful alpine ones.

The trek to Bedni Bugyal and Ali Bugyal passes through the vast pasturing grasslands and the thick Oaks and Rhododendron-clad forests. The Bedni Kund in Bedni Bugyal, which holds great religious importance amongst the locals, can be spotted midway through the trek.

We have a multitude of reasons to love this trek.

These majestic twin meadows are the real-life replica of the famous Windows XP wallpaper (remember the one with lush green mountain tops). Except, it’s even better!

In winter, the meadows are covered in heavy snow, and the snow-clad pine trees are indeed a relishing view. The layer of snow peels off towards the end of winter, and by the onset of summer, you see vast meadows carpeted with fresh green grass.

The walk to Bedni Bugyal starting from the camp itself is totally exhilarating! It is one of a kind walk that tempts you to take off your shoes and run on this carpeted meadow. The Bedni Bugyal is another stop in this meadow country – a vibrant green strip overlooking the western valley. Popping right out of this meadow-like sentient, silent guards are the mountains of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. If you climb the Bedni Top, other high risers of the imposing Chaukhamba range open up before you. These incredible settings make the meadow a must-do on every trekker’s bucket list.
