Around year end 2014, a trip with friends to create new memories to one of the most beautiful part of India- Eastern India. We started our journey from Delhi to Darjeeling to Gangtok to Siliguri to Bhutan.

We started our journey at late evening from Delhi- New Delhi Railway Station, so that we reach early morning to our destination. Train took more hours we thought it will take (Longest train journey ever), we reached New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. But as I believe in "Its all about the journey that matters", that was worth it. Siliguri is the closest railway junction & airport to Gangtok.

Stared our trip to Darjeeling, town famed for distinctive black tea grown on plantation that dots its surrounding slopes. Chauk Bazaar, Darjeeling, a famous tourist spot for shopping, eating and sight seeing leads to various temples and nature's excellence sights. I would suggest everyone to visit Glenary's Bakery (Best Bakery-Awesome place to sit and watch the sunset with a cup of tea and more).

Next destination- MG Marg, Gangtok -ALIVE City. We stayed very close to MG Marg and best part everything is very close to that place, like restaurants, shops and all. And most importantly, a great view for Mt. Kanchenjungha. A beautiful waterfall, where you can try out their ethnics and pose for pictures. Other great viewpoints located around Gangtok are located in Hanuman Tok – a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Ganesh Tok – a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh and Enchey Monastery beside the TV Tower. It would be quite rewarding, if you spare a day or two in Gangtok for local sightseeing and visit Rumtek Monastery.

If you colors to your life, don't miss out Flowers Exhibition Centre, Ridge Park, Gangtok, also you get to eat best Dimsums (momo) in the world. For sightseeing , best is Damodar Ropeway is a cable car that shuttles from just below the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology to the Secretariat. It provides a bird's-eye views of Gangtok, along with stupendous vistas of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys.

Next day, early morning we left for the Changu lake (Frozen Lake), lake remains frozen up to April. You can walk through the bridge instrumented with the prayer wheels, flags and bells, to the mountain side of the lake, that welcomes snow to settle also not to miss Yak Ride. Leading way to Nathula Pass (Indo-China Border), Nathu La is a mountain pass in the Himalayas. Connecting the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. I would suggest if you have few spare hours, do visit Baba Mandir (the samadhi of Baba Harbhajan), a real Hero who foretells any dangerous activity on the border through the dreams of the fellow army men and safeguards the force- "Duty Beyond Death".

While coming back we have also been to Bhutan Border as one of my close friend stays in Birpara (small town close to Bhutan),about 2 hours distance from Siliguri.

While coming back we decide to take flight as we were tired to travel by train, nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport.

My projection about this place will be excellent if you want to go on a trip for 4-5 days, just to relax & admire the nature's excellency with a very soothing tenure. One of the best people to go with family & friends and best time is anytime of the year you wish.

This is the way I saw beautiful Eastern India, please share your views or any queries about the place, would really like to help.

Also would like to thanks my friends- Ankit, Sheetal, Niketa, Yadav, Neha (Sis) and a very special thanks to Shashak Sagar (For Food to Bhooka-Us).
