Day 4

Arrived into Amritsar from Mumbai and headed to Dalhousie.  Enjoyed the fun and frolic program arranged by Hotel Grand View. This hotel has beautiful ambience and scenic in it's own way. From the room balcony one can see the sky touching Himalayas claded with shimmering and shining snow. Reached in the evening so rested.

Day 5

After breakfast headed to Khajjiar as called as Mini Switzerland. Green lushy landscape covered with pine trees on one side and Himalayas behind.

Day 6

After breakfast proceeded to Chamera Lake. Its man made Lake with water taken from River Raavi which flows from Punjab to Pakistan. Motor boats available for joy ride. In the evening went to Punchpulla where one can do rope walking and wire crossing. On the way back you can visit the statue of Lord Shiva which has a height of 81 meters.

Day 7

Said bye-bye to Dalhousie and proceeded to Mcleodganj, a small town in Kangra Dist in Himachal Pradesh and reached by evening. Beautiful small town with Tibetian monks and monastery. In the evening one can spend time visiting the market.

Day 8

Visited Bhagshunath Temple, St. John's Church and Dalai Lama's Temple which is also the residence of Dalai Lama. One can see the throne of Dalai Lama.

Day 9

Proceeded to Dharamshala where we visited the State War Memorial with water fountain in the centre.  Also visited the cricket stadium, Norbulingka Monastery and Gyuto Tantric Monastery.

Day 10

Gathered our baggage and said bye to Mcleodganj and headed to Amritsar. After reaching checked in at Backpackers Nest at Hall Bazar booked through Air B&B. The hotel is situated very close to The Partition Museum and The Golden Temple...the only problem was of the hot water for bath. Could not visit Haluanwalla Baug as it was under construction.  Hall Bazar is a shopping area where you can get to buy Phulkari punjabi suits, dupattas and jutting (mojri). There is also a Jain Temple and Shani Dev Temple in the same vicinity of Golden Temple.

Day 11

Visited Golden Temple in the morning but could not visit in the night as we ate chicken for dinner.  Beera's Chicken near Bhandari Hospital one should eat roast chicken...mouth watering.

Day 12

Again visited Golden Temple by 8.30 am as there were lot of people standing in queue to visit the tomb inside the temple. Surrounded by man made pool. Also attended langer (a community run free food for all) from all walks of life. From there visited Gobindgarh Qila and the Wagha Border. I came into full energetic mood to visit. Patriotic film songs, dance and the parade by our BSF Soldiers. Salute to them.

Day 13

Shopping of patiala punjabi suit and other stuff. Visited Rambagh garden to spend time. Packed our bags and proceeded to Amritsar aiport to board our flight back  to Mumbai.
