We started from Khind to Hargad Chor Darwaja(door) trail which took around 3 Hours to reach. some sleepy patches on trail be careful while climbing. We finally reached to Chor Darwaja point and it was just a way beautiful and majestic than I thought. so beautifully built by the peoples of that time. one interesting thing of this door is that it was not visible from anywhere from base point, you have to reach at some particular point of this fort where you can see this. that's why its called Chor Darwaja as if any attack happened on fort you need other entrance/way/door for safer side to move away. We took some snacks here and proceed to see the Plateau of fort.

Around 15 min from Chor Darwaja we came at right side of fort where one big canon namely "Hajarbagadi " of around 12-15 feet of height was placed. Just think how at that time this canon was shifted from base to here on top with that much weight. Just amazing and hat's of to those hands who had courage and energy to do so. We then explored plateau of fort where some remnants of home and villages of that time. We reached to one old temple where Shivling is there with facing lord Hanuman Statue with canon weapons made up of stones. We took blessings and started exploring remaining points on forts. One big Monsoon Lake on fort. By looking this, one can imagine how much people will be living on this fort. We met one old man on fort who is shepherd and farmer by profession and asked him the Main way to this fort which is too much sleepry now and covered with dense forest. In monsoon this trail is full of water. This way is from the temple which is easily find to anyone. Started to descending the fort with this route now. Time was around 4:00 PM now and we were in hurry as we need to camp our tent before sunset and dark. there were 3 to 4enterance doors we saw which were in not good condition now on this trail. After, 1 and half hour we finally reached to Khind (central point) again. Well, this trail was quite hard as there were some difficult patches where one needs to be really careful but still we covered both routes for this fort. Happy with myself that I covered this and finally headed towards "Someshwar Mahadev Temple" where we planning to stay and camp as temple was having good area to camp and facilities.

It took us around 40 minutes to reached at temple as we were lost on few trails as multiple small small trails on fort. Temple was very peaceful ambient and old structure. Government has done quite well work for this fort as it was having history from mythology. We started tying our tent and later some villagers from Satana regions arrived there to visit temple for blessings as Monday was there known for Bhagwan Mahadev's Day. We did pooja of Shivling , took blessings and later they suggest us that there is Home (Kutiya) of temples Poojary where you can camp peacefully without having any fear.

We like this idea and headed towards with them on that point which is 10 mins from temple. There were home of Babaji with almost all facilities. Babaji gave us Kheer which was delicious. after some point villagers left for their home and we started campfire. We talked a lot with Babaji that night and go to bed around 12 o clock in the night.

Day 2:

Day 2

We woke up around 5:35 AM in the morning, Packed our Tents and left some luggage over Babaji's Kutiya as we have to complete 2 forts today before 12 o clock. We started ascending from Someshwar Temple for Moragad Fort Which is Highest point of Mulher Fort . Scenery was so so beautiful. It's always good to start any trek early morning as it is more healthier to body. Trail is quite well with having some stairs in between trail. around 1 an half hour we reached at main fortification wall which joined Mulher- Mora fort together. Stairs for Moragad started from here and still this stairs are in a good condition. entrance door for this fort is very good in condition and so beautifully carved structure on door with Ganesh and Hanuman Statue. One cave. water tanks and some remnants on top of the fort. View of Satmal range is awesome from this fort. We explored all places and left for Mulher now and came at the joint point for both forts.

Mulher plateau is very large and having big water tanks on forts with some remnants. entrance for this from Moragad is with one Chor Darwaja which is not good in condition. carved stairs are made to reach the top. We explored Bhadangnath Temple, Big water Tanks and one grand entrance is key attractive places on forts. Also, The main entrance for this will having Zig-Zag pattern doors with fortification is built which is very good example from protection point of view of fort. We descend from the main route of fort and reached again at Babaji's Kutiya around 11:30 AM.

We then prepared Maggie for us which is mandatory you know when you are in mountains. We then packed our bags and left this fort with memories for lifetime with us and headed towards our last destination which is Mangi-Tungi

We reached Mangi-Tungi around 3:00 PM. We were late as we had took some rest on Mulher of around 1 hour. We decided just to complete the Mangi today where there is worlds tallest statue of Bhagwan Rishabdev. We completed this and came back to our bike around 5:30 PM.

Overall, We completed the Range trek(Mangi-Tungi was not in a plan but still we completed Mangi) and headed towards Nashik. Lots of memories with satisfaction of having completion of Baglan range trek which I always wanted to do and that too with covering all the routes.

Last destination of range trek

Photo of Mulher-Mora-Hargad (Capital Of Baglan) by Aditya Ahirrao

Day 1 :

So, again this time for Baglan Range trek....

NOTE: All Photos of whole range trek is at last of this blog

This time we have decided to complete this trek as last time during Salher-Salota trek we couldn't due to timing issues. I was bit disappointed with myself at that time as it was on my list to complete the range trek but not everything is possible on that same day due to limited time.

This time I gathered some information from internet/books/YouTube as Mulher was Capital of Baglan and having around bigger plateau to explore which cover almost 3 forts within it and some remnants of old majestic temples and homes. This info was really helpful during trek as we were only 2 friends who was covering this range trek.

We started our journey from Nashik to Mulherwadi in the morning around 8 o clock (Yes, quite late as we planned it bit early to ride). One side journey with my Unicorn 160 was around 130 km from Nashik which took around 2:30 to 3:00 hrs. to reach at base village as there is a Mumbai-Agra national Highway of around 60 km and rest journey was also quite good except the roads from Satana to Taharabad which is under construction now. we took our breakfast at Taharabad with 2 Parathas & Chai as some proteins were necessary. This time we took healthy and light weight snacks with us to avoid unnecessary problems during trek.

We reached around 11:30 AM and park bike under one Tree where there was small village(Base Village) and started our trek around 11:45 AM. We had quite heavy backpack with us around 5 kg on shoulder which include 3 kg of Tent(3 persons tent) which is not that much necessary for 2 people as you can stay under caves on top of forts with sleeping bags/Mats.(Don't carry much weight with you, try to do minimal hiking as it was not that much difficult trek where you need this much weight). We don't have any other tent available with us so we decided to took that tent with us. we reached within half an hour at first entrance of fort.(You can reach here by your personal bike but road is not in a good condition). Here, there is some construction going for fortification wall of forts which is quite good from tourist perspective. we covered 3 entrance and reached at Ganesh Temple which we can say base for all this 3 forts.

Ganesh Temple is very attractive with lake facing having Hemadpanthi Structure on it. Those who love architecture, structures and History will definitely going to love this temple. I personally feel very peaceful over there as I was quite interesting to see the structure of this.

We saw temple and there we met 4 peoples from Pune. They had done their trek and on their way to home. we took some info from them about timing, precautions and where to stay. We then started our journey towards Hargad Fort from dense jungle route. around 30 to 45 mins we were on "Khind" (Central point ) of Mulher & Hargad. To reach over this point, one need to follow the proper trail as there are many trails which were joining this central point. better, if you keep map of fort with you as we carried with us. Time was around 1:00 PM now and it's too much difficult to climb the fort on this time as harsh sunrays were there to loose your energy and with that heavy weight on shoulder.
