When the New Year starts, the first thing I mark on my calendar is a long weekend. That long weekend is reserved for a trip but nothing else. Such long weekends are a blessing to get away from daily monotonous work life. This article covers a few trips from Delhi without making a hole in your pockets.

Distance from Delhi: 375 Km (approx.)

Situated near Jaipur, which is bustling with tourists, Kishangarh started getting noticed recently only. August monsoon times make it the best time to visit this place to get the colorful reflections, breathtaking monsoon sky view, and pleasant weather.

How to reach?

It is very convenient to reach Kishangarh from Delhi. You can take a train to Kishangarh. The train journey takes around 5-6 hours.

Cost breakdown

Trains from Delhi to Kishangarh- The tickets start as cheap as 180 INR. You can also take a Bus to Kishangarh. The bus fare starts from 400 INR. You can find hotels in Kishangarh for around 1500 INR. Or you can go to Jaipur and spend a night there where you can find lots of cheap hostels and other historical places to explore.

Things to do

Marble Dumpyard- The dump yard looks like paradise land covered in white snow and a lake in between. It is the perfect place to get some best Instagram-worthy photos. Recently it has become a popular attraction for photoshoots, especially wedding photoshoots.

Things to note- Opening Hours- 10 AM-6 PM (Last entry 4 PM). Need to take permission from Marble Association.

Kishangarh also brings you a step closer to Rajasthan history. You can visit Kishangarh Fort, Gondulav Lake, Phool Mahal Palace, and Mokham Vilas to learn more about the history of Rajasthan.

Sangla, also known as the land of Nagas, is stretched along the river Baspa and surrounded by a beautiful mountain range. A Green lush valley surrounded by mountains is a perfect way to relax and enjoy the slow life.

How to reach?

You can take a direct Bus from Delhi to Sangla. There is no direct Volvo from Delhi to Sangla, only ordinary buses. You can book your tickets from private operators or the Himachal Road Transportation Corporation website.

Cost Breakdown

The bus fare costs around 1000 INR one way.

You can book a Zostel for 600 INR or get a hotel for 700-1500 INR.

Things to do

The Sangla Valley is perfect to explore Tibetan culture and leanr more about Buddhism.

Kamru fort- The forts have remarkable wooden architecture. The intrinsic carvings will make you go in awe. It is located 2kms away from Sangla. The walk to the fort is another experience of its own as you walk through green meadows and apple fields.

Tibetan Wood Carving Center- You can get some beautiful hand-carved souvenirs here.

Bering Nag Temple

Nature-Culture-Sangla valley is a perfect destination to explore a new culture and get closer to nature while walking through the green meadows, exploring some village treks and listening to the sound of the Baspa River.

This hidden gem is located just 15 km away from Nainital. It is a perfect place to immerse oneself in nature. You can book a nice wooden cottage to enjoy the view of the mountains as it is known for the best wooden cottages and tent houses. Bring your book or just sit on a balcony chair with a view and sip on your tea.

How to Reach?

By Bus- The best way to reach Pangot is to take an overnight Bus from Delhi to Nainital and then take a cab or local transportation.

By Train- You can also take a train to Kathgodam or Haldwani station.

You can find an overnight Bus from Delhi to Nainital from 450 INR onwards/one way.

You can find hotels 2000~3000 INR.

Things to do

Birdwatching- This place is a birdwatcher's paradise. Thanks to the richness of the flora it homes hundreds of species of birds, local as well as migratory can be seen. You can spot different species of birds. The melodious chirping will make you fall in love with this place more.

Beautiful Nature- No place can be better than this town full of rich flora and lush green trees to offer you relaxation, solitude, and soothing nature. You can explore more nearby areas by hiring a cab or by walking or trekking.

This can also be a good substitute for your Work From Home.

Camping- This place is also famous for camping.

Located near Shimla and Kufri, Fagu is a paradise for trekkers and nature lovers. Green Fields with the mountains as a backdrop and the serenity of the place will make you fall in love with this place.

How to Reach

You can take an overnight Bus from Delhi to Shimla. From there you can take a cab. Fagu is around 20km away from Shimla.

The Bus fare starts from 530 INR one way. You can find hotels for 2000~3000 INR.

Things to do

This small town is dreamy paradise. The best way to explore the area will be by taking a stroll or hiking in the area. This town is also famous for its apple orchards. So why it is the best opportunity to learn more about the cultivation of the world-famous apples.

Banthia Devta Temple- Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the temple is famous for its intricate and beautiful wooden architecture.

Chharabra Sunset/Sunrise Point- This sunset/sunrise spot offers you to some spectacular view. The trek to Chharabra point along the Tattapani stream is also just breathtaking.
